Happy Equinox?

The equinox is a moment to pause and reflect on where we have come from and where we are going.  When night and day are equal at  the halfway point in the zodiac wheel, Libra. its time to take stock and see where we have come so far. As we approach this  Autumn Equinox  on Sept 22 ~ the eclipse portal is now closed, though the effects are still rippling out and they speak to our direction going forward.

The  Collective Destiny Points (nodes of the Moon) show what we must  focus on  to evolve and grow.  According to Evolutionary Astrology, a planet square (90 degrees) to the Nodal axis is called a “skipped step”, unresolved material from the past that needs to be addressed and integrated before a person can fully move forward. That planet is currently  Uranus (the awakener) in Gemini (the mind).

The recent lunar eclipse on August 28th revealed patterns we need to outgrow:
With the South Node in Virgo (the past) we are releasing a tendency toward over analyzing, micromanaging, nitpicking, perfectionism and the belief that everything must be fixed or explained before we can move forward; in other words, being stuck in our head.

The North Node in Pisces (direction forward) opened the door to surrender, compassion, and trust in the universe. We have been invited to release the need to micromanage every outcome and instead let go a little and trust that the universe is working in our favour. To do that we must face the  part of us that hides behind what feels practical and safe because maybe we are secretly afraid to let go and trust the unknown.

If you are a Virgo you may be feeling this quite strongly,  something in your life is shifting in a majour way. Eclipses affect everyone - though whoever has key planets or aspects near the eclipse degrees ( (12 Virgo/Pisces) will feel it most intensely.

(I am playing around a bit with AI generated images. I prefer to mostly stick to my own artwork/collage, yet fun to bring in something new and different now and then)

Speaking of new and different, Uranus  in Gemini  is a maverick with many surprises in store. It governs the higher mind, with the capacity to interrupt our mental loops and  inner narratives (the stories we tell ourselves). To that end, Uranus can be disruptive; it has a way of shocking us to help us break out of those stubborn patterns. The trick is to trust the process, which helps if we can calm down the mental static.  Uranus  brings us many gifts:  aha moments, new insights and surprise openings, as well as nervous system activations/dysregulations/exhaustion .

If you are feeling  restless or having trouble sleeping, get your feet on the earth (staying grounded is vital).

With Uranus in Gemini as the  skipped step, we may need to step outside our old familiar stories that are rooted in mental habits and frameworks (Gemini); time to find a new story.  Some of the rapid change refers to the advent of AI - which I have mixed feelings about. There is a tone to AI texts and images that I find rather generic and am already becoming bored of. Who wants perfect diction/imagery? And at what cost (to self, to environment, to privacy) ?

It's a useful tool (i use it to synthesise chart data sometimes and I played with imagery for this post) however,  over-dependence on a synthetic system can derail us from using our own brains.

Here's to finding our own unique voice! Uranus (the awakener) retrograde in Gemini ~ asks us to reflect on what exactly that is!?

Meanwhile, have you ever heard of a YOD? Starting at the lunar eclipse om Aug 28th,  we've had an unusual added feature (called a YOD/ finger of god) pointing directly at Mercury (Virgo's ruling planet) ~ amplifying the already mentioned need to shift our communication and mental processes.

This current energy brings  highly obsessive and critical thoughts  to the surface; it can be difficult to let go of ideas or perceptions  ~ some of which may be distorted or simply untrue. This is an intense dynamic that calls for awareness, discernment, and a little extra care in how we respond to one another.  Misunderstandings, misinformation, or false assumptions can take hold, creating unnecessary tension in relationships. With Pluto’s themes of transformation, death, and rebirth at play, past relationships may unexpectedly resurface, while some existing ones may. just as unexpectedly  come to an abrupt end. Be forewarned that emotions are running high, and many of us are  feeling especially reactive right now.

Then, rather unexpectedly (ha), there is  another  Yod (I know what are the odds?!) pointing directly  at Venus,  and putting our relationships into sharp focus. All of this is raising the ante and reminding us that a powerful karmic clearing and/or relationship rebalancing is occurring for many of us. Issues  around power and  control can barge into our conversations at a moments notice, putting us into conflict  with one another before we know it (remember Uranus brings surprises) . When push comes to shove, step back, take a deep breath, let many things pass (thank you i- ching). With so much high octane energy in the atmosphere, its critical to stay steady and grounded, and very important to clarify  our  intentions and communications  as try not to be being triggered. (haha I know - not so easy sometimes)

The Equinox is all about equanimity.

As the intensity and warlike energy of Mars/Pluto peaks on Oct 3rd, while  Venus (love) turns retrograde, our relationship tensions get turned inward. What did I do wrong? What did they do wrong? How can we fix this? Maybe I don;t want to fix this  etc etc etc

Do-si-do, here we go, swing your partner to and fro. Dancing the dance of life.

If Mars/Pluto is  activating your warrior complex, be a warrior for love!
 (Venus) (in a good way)

we s
We all know that our relationships are mirrors ~ reflecting our 'stuff  ~  so we must start with loving our self  (as within, so without). That for some,  is a radical act.

On another front,  Chiron now back  in Aries (retrograde)  is reactivating  our need for personal agency (the ability to act); but  it wants us to act consciously. Aries is ruled by Mars (god of war) and this may also be revealing  the wounded masculine archetype.   We all have it. The old paradigm of power-over is ending,  though not without a fight (pun intended)!  We may  see these power plays acting out in our personal lives and on the world stage ~ as push comes to shove.

Is there a new way to claim personal power that causes no harm?

Today (sept 22)  is the Autumn Equinox, and as the Sun moves into the sign of Libra,  sign of the scales, the eclipse energy is still rippling out. The release process we are in will lead us to balance ~ as we reflect on the past and get ready for the future.
And yet all we have is NOW.

So whatever is throwing you off balance: this is the time to Let that shit go!

As the Sun moves across the equator ~ and day equals night ~ take a moment (or two)  to find your equilibrium.  Reflect in gratitude on where you’ve been and where you are going, and perhaps even do a ritual to release what needs releasing.
(old fears, old resentments, old anger, old relationships)

Write it all down  and put it in a fire ... or  bury it ... or shred it. Whatever works!

Then ...  let your heart be still.

You know you want to 😉

“ I said to my soul, be still,
and wait without hope
For hope would be hope for the wrong thing;
wait without love,
For love would be love of the wrong thing;
there is yet faith
But the faith and the love and the hope are all in the waiting.
Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought:
So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.”
