A Graual Awakening: New Moon in Pisces/Spring Equinox
The last New Moon of the astrological year occurs just two days before Spring officially begins! As we wipe the sleep of winter from our eyes, something is percolating far below. This is a New Moon of both release and fresh starts, occurring on Mar 18th at the end of Pisces (6:23 PM PT) and just a few degrees from Pisces’ ruler Neptune (who is now in Aries). This event signals an opportunity for emotional completion, and provides a spiritual reset ~ inviting us to tap into intuitive insights and intentions that will lead us to new beginnings.
Every New Moon is a reset point, a new start ~ yet this one is also about completion ~ as the energy transitions between Pisces (end of the zodiac) and Aries (beginning of the zodiac); we are still finishing off some very old cycles and clearing away centuries and layers of conditioning. Not an overnight process, yet this marks a significant turning point. Spring has sprung (or will soon :)
As the final sign on the zodiac wheel, Pisces encourages letting go of what no longer fits, highlighting the need for completion and introspection. We are invited to turn within and set gentle intentions, rather than forced action as Mars (action) is now in Pisces - a peaceful water sign. Jupiter (also connected to Pisces) is flowing in harmony with the Collective Destiny Point in Pisces ~ suggesting we can now expand deeper into our higher self ~ alowing us to see beyond current circumstances and transform the way we make sense of life.
"You cannot change a situation on the level that created it" Carl Jung
Time for something completely different. Situations we have been trying to change or tolerate can suddenly shift into opportunities rather than obstacles. It is time to make the Unconscious Conscious.
Life is!
Breath is!
We are!
"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye"
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Recent solar eclipses in Aquarius and Pisces brought us into a liminal, undefined space ~ yet where many felt an impetus to move forward, as Uranus the awakener offered new options and opportunities; we are filled with anticipation (and impatience) for coming changes ~ yet the lunar eclipse in Pisces (Mar 3rd) suggested there may still be work to do to clear the way forward. That debris in our way is often rooted in unprocessed hurts, fears, traumas that keep us in stuck in self prtoection and resistance (Chiron). As we continue healing and releasing those lingering patterns, we must trust that this is in prepariation for a rebirth and a deeper sense of connection and inner knowing. This is a time of soulful re-awakenings, and awakenings are not always easy ~ they are often accompanied by shocks, shifts and upsets. It seems humans don’t easily give up what is comfortable and familiar (old parts of self) we prefer to stay in our comfort zone (Taurus). Yet Uranus in Taurus wants to shake things up. A wake up call?
I fell into a river yesterday ~ the ice that I used to walk on during the winter is melting more than I realized ~ and I heard a crack~ then fell in up to my waist. Luckily I was right beside the embankment and (with some effort) was about to pull myself up and out of the freezing cold water. Whew! Talk about a perfect metaphor! Pay attention. Dont rely on past information.
As the energy of the recent eclipses continues to ripple out, it is pushing us into unfamiliar territory ~ as we twist and turn to try and shake off whatever is holding us back. As this New Moon puts final closure on that eclipse portal, Mercury (ruler of the last eclipse) turns direct after three weeks retrograde. It will take another three weeks to make up lost ground, so here again we find the same theme of 'two steps forward one step back'. We must first integrate whatever old stuff has been coming up for healing so that we can move forward with a clean slate.
Patience grasshopper. All is unfolding as it should (note to self). Pisces is not about doing, it is about Being ~ which it often brings about through dissolving and undoing.
The ultimate message of Pisces is about connecting to our true essence~ to source/ all that is. It says that true peace does not exist in the external world.
On that level, looks like things are about to accelerate at an increasing rate. Change is afoot. The inner work we are doing now can prepare us for what is to come. At this time of karmic reckoning ~ we are being called to step into a more conscious and aware state ~ so that we can make better choices (as individuals and as a collective).
This is a seed time, a time for preparing the soil. As we move across the bridge between the past and the future, we must utilize whatever tools we have: journaling, dream work, meditation/inner practice etc ~ to fertilize the ground for the intentions we are planting so that they are rooted in tthe heart rather than external logicistics (those will come later). With Neptune (ruler of this New Moon) and Saturn now together in Aries, our visions can soon begin to manifest. We enter a time when dreams(Neptune) rcan become real (Saturn).
If you build it they will come (Feild of Dreams)
Yet first, the dissolution. This New Moon is asking what we really, really want on a soul level. What does your heart require of you? Is that inner prayer ready to be planted in the fertile soil of your intention? Spring is coming. Very soon the warmth of the Aries Sun will begin to germinate what we have planted.
Till then, let go and let god.
You know you want to
