New Moon /Solar Eclipse in Wild n Wacky Aquarius

A New Moon /Solar eclipse in Aquarius is occurring right now (early Feb 17th) and its effects will ripple out for months.

Aquarius is an unusual sign ~ it is all about individuality and stepping outside the status quo, yet also represents communitie, groups, society. As a fixed air sign ruled by Uranus (modern) and Saturn (traditional), Aquarians are known for being independent, intelligent, forward-thinking, and often unconventional humanitarian thinkers. Yet they can also be rather stubborn.

The symbol for Aquarius is the Water-Bearer (symbolizing the pouring of knowledge/inspiration). It is an air sign (intellect) and known to be somewhat cool and detached, stubborn, and emotionally distant. Aqaurians are not so comfortable with one to one dynamics yet they excell in groups.  My late mom was a quirky Aquarian (her birthday would have been  yesterday) and although she kept to herself in her later years ~ when we would go out shopping etc she seemed to know everyone's names and personal details - always asked about their daughter/sons etc. They make great teachers and inspired leaders, as long as they are given a lot of spcae. Life would be very dull without Aqaurians.

The ruling planets for Aquarius are  Uranus (innovation, technology) and Saturn (structure) and both are being highlghted in the current astrology.

The New Moon/Solar eclipse tonight/early tomorrow (Feb 17th)  comes as we sit on the cusp of the new era. We are seeing great breakdowns and shakedowns in the established order that can lead to great awakenings (both personal and global!) This is the gateway into the new earth.

This New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Aquarius ~ represents a powerful moment for new beginnings carrying the possibility of deep transformation/shifts/chamges. Eclipses mark portals to a new level of consciousness, and as we move through the eclipse portal (time between eclipses) reality morphs and shifts to make way for the new energies pouring in. I had the chance to go to a gathering tonight but something in me just wanted to stay home. I have heard that Indiginous peoples stay indoors during eclipses - they are considered very powerful.

This eclipse amplifies the energy of the Aquarian New Moon, bringing the possibility of sudden insights, shifts, revelations and aha moments. Eclipses can also signify  endings ~ one door closes ~ another one opens.

The sign of Aquarius highlights themes around innovation, community, and breaking from tradition.  Uranus (the awakener ) is involved by square (tension)  ~ making it a catalyst for surprises synchronicity and/or unsettling events. Uranus as the modern ruler of Aquarius represents freedom from the past.

New Moons are seed times ~ where potential is planted. We may look back on this moment as an important and pivotal portal into the next cycle and in fact the next age....This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius! la la la 🎶

As the eclipse occurs,  Mercury (communication) and Venus (love ) are straddling the Collective Destiny Point in Pisces (compassion) which suggests that relationships and/or finacial dynamics are in flux andmay be the source of surpises and awakenings. Uranus in Taurus (earth) could be the ground literally shaking or possibility of sudden financial gains or losses. This is unpredicatble energy, to say the least.

Then, just three days after the  New Moon/Solar eclipse ~ we have an exact Saturn/ Neptune conjunction on February 20, 2026. Saturn and Neptune, already joined together at 0° Aries,  are now just seconds apart, marking a rare and significant alignment. 0 degrees Aries is called the World Point and signifies global impact; this exact meetup has not occurred in thousands of years. Something unexpected  this way comes.

A Saturn/ Neptune conjunction is known historically for triggering significant events. The last one brought the fall (Neptune) of the Berlin Wall (Saturn) in 1989.  Saturn represents structure, discipline, and physical reality, while Neptune symbolizes dreams, illusions, and spirituality. This strange union of opposites attemots to blend these energies, often bringing a challenge between reality and idealism.

This rare conjunction at such a critical point of the zodiac signifies the end of the old order. and hopefully will inspire a new era of visionary leadership that  blends empathy with practical action. It  may also expose illusions or false narratives that need to be dismantled, and we are seeing that in action right now.    These outer planets move very slowly so their energies unfold gradually ~ meaning the influence of this aspect will ripple out for some time to come.

And we are all co creators of the new reality. A New Moon is a seed time; the sacred marriage of Sun and Moon energize and fertilize the seeds that we sow. Plant what you want to see flourish. Focus your intention of the greater good.  The square to Uranus the awakener promises something interesting - with shocks and upsets on some level.

This eclipse  marks significant endings and new beginnings in the area of our chart it lands in. Remembering that 'the planets impel they do not compel'. Aquarius is the sign that most believes in freedom and free will.

In astrology, the zodiac wheel is divided into 12 houses, each representing a particular area of life. Have a look at where the eclipse is occurring in your own chart  to see where some sort of important shift may be imminent. (there are many free charts online- I often use astro theme and astro.com).

1. First House (Ascendant) – Represents self-identity, appearance, and how you project yourself to the world.
2. Second House – Governs self worth, personal values, possessions, and financial security.
3. Third House – Relates to communication, learning, and close social connections like siblings and neighbors.
4. Fourth House (IC) – Symbolizes home, family roots, and emotional foundations.
5. Fifth House – Covers creativity, romance, children, and personal joy.
6. Sixth House – Focuses on daily routines, health, personal work environment and service to others.
7. Seventh House (Descendant) – Represents partnerships, marriage, and one-on-one relationships.
8. Eighth House – Associated with transformation, shared resources, and deep emotional bonds.
9. Ninth House – Governs higher learning, travel, philosophy, and belief systems.
10. Tenth House (MC) – Reflects career, public reputation, and life goals.
11. Eleventh House – Relates to friendships, social groups, and aspirations for the future.
12. Twelfth House – Symbolizes the subconscious, solitude, and self sacrifice as well as spiritual growth

This eclipse, combined with the Saturn/Neptune conjunction, represents a powerful global reset. What that looks like in your own life  is up to you.  The intentions we set now will ripple out for at least 6 months or longer. We are all  part of the awakening. If not us who? If not now when?

Make a wish and let it be so.
You know you want to :)
