New Moon ~ Partial Solar eclipse in Aries:

Today's is a potent partial Solar eclipse in Aries at 6:30 -7:30 am EST. We have made it through the eclipse portal and are about to exit through this doorway. The past is behind us and there's a new threshold to cross. The South Node eclipse  in Virgo (two weeks ago) that was all about the past- giving us the discernment to cut away whatever has been holding us back from our best self. We can no longer do the same old things in the same old way. Every eclipse is a time of shift that carries this message - with this one even more so.  The recent  south node/ release point in Virgo signified something shifting or changing in preparation for a new level of becoming our authentic self (Aries). Virgo is about discernment and healing as we winnow out the necessary from the superfluous, the real from the unreal

“This is not just another “letting go” exercise, this is a DEEP CLEANING."
Kaypacha

Aries is the beginning of spring - all about new beginnings  and new initiatives. Today's New Moon Solar eclipse will push us forward ~  Spring has sprung! Yet  there are still challenges to be overcome. Eclipses  often require some kind of sacrifice, something must  get left behind; which inevitably brings us back to Pisces, the sign that leads up to Aries; the sign of letting go.

It looks like we  have some spring cleaning to do. Eclipses bring forks in the road/endings ~  Virgo  brought us discernment and  clear-headedness around  what to keep and what to let go of. Now today's eclipse in Aries asks us if we have the courage to move forward from the losses or choices  that have occurred. Something in our life is rearranging itself  to allow for the strengthening and elevation of the Aries principle - the way we act in the world (Mars/Aries).  Both eclipses come at a critical time in a significant year ~ and their effects will ripple out for several years.  This is such an important time in the evolution of the human race as we sit on the cusp of the new age ~ with the privilege of being here to participate.  The old ways are ending (even if it doesn't look like it) cause its always darkest before the dawn. As we  sit on the edge of a new dawn ~ every death/rebirth leads to a new beginning. The place the eclipse is occurring in your chart will give you more clarity as to what could be transforming in some way. (astro.com has free charts)

This is a time of awakening - which suggests we have been asleep. Wakey -wakey. There are important questions to ask. We need to get our bearings as we rub the sleep from our eyes. First we ask: Who am I? (Aries)  Then - who am I with?(Libra).  For the last year and a half the the nodal axis of destiny  has been between Aries/Libra and this eclipse is the last one of that cycle. There have been big lessons  been around our relationship patterns and about the need for autonomy  vs our need to connect and relate.   Libra/Aries has asked how do we get what we need/want and still be able to co operate ~  we need to change old inherited ways of relating  to bring in more conscious, alive and elevated forms of relationships - beyond the projections, the polarity and the battles; the you vs me.

Mars - god of war- and the ruler of Aries,  wants to win (at all costs?) It has gone from retrograde (last eclipse) to direct, while both Mercury (communication) and Venus (love, money, art)  have turned retrograde. With our interpersonal energies  turned inward right now, Mars can feel frustrated.  It wants what it wants. Yet if we want to start operating from a higher level, we will have to get clear with our self ~ and get clear with others.  There is a lot of zigging-and-zagging  and shifting as key planets move back and forth between Pisces and Aries - on and over the Aries Point (0 degrees Aries) making us a bit dizzy (especially with Neptune involved)  with clarity hard to come by.   Its easy to feel overwhelmed right now. Not just by all the crazy politics ~ but by so much internal stuff coming up for healing/releasing.  There is a lot happening at once.

Funnily- I live near a nature reserve and have had several coyote encounters recently. Coyote is a trickster who turns things upside down. Something is shakin'. A message? (last time that occurred my mom died shortly thereafter). A warning?  Or more likely - a wake up call. Time for a change.  I am discovering that old habits die hard.

As we move through this powerful, spiritual detox the energy can destabilize us and shut us down if we don't have a way to process what is coming up...  yet we can no longer do the same old things in the same old way. Planetary events may catalyze the emergence of old emotional and karmic wounds that need to be healed and released. During the Aries/Libra period we've been faced with lessons  around our ways of relating.  This is also an important moment around healing the wounded masculine (Mars/Chiron). How or why do we want and/or get what we want?  Do we try to force things to happen  or do we find a way to co operate? How do we gain a sense of agency without riding roughshod over others? Where do we get our personal power from? Or do we give our power away? Anger, resentment, impatience are all Aries traits. Perhaps we use those against others, or maybe we have had them used against us. If we are Aries Sun or Moon or Rising ~ all of these issues will be exaggerated. Part of this is about emotional integration and balancing. We are learning how to handle the fiery energy of Mars in a healthy way and the 'stuff'  coming to the surface may lead us back to its roots in our childhood (Chiron in Aries) Yet Fire signs do not like to look inward (or backward) Mars was retrograde a long time and now it is moving direct it is impatient to move forward.  Fire burns through quickly and doesn't look back. This could be challenging,  Mars is in Cancer - a highly emotional sign. Once it is in Leo it will gain more energy. Till then, there's some inner work to do.

Grief might be coming up now around lost opportunities or lost innocence in relation to  the masculine.  Dreams are especially strong now - I've had some every healing and revealing messages around these themes in the last few days.   It’s important to have ways of processing all the feels - massage,  body work, EFT Tapping, Breathwork,  family constellations work, SoulCollage etc etc. Sometimes we  have to find somewhere safe to just howl into the night. There's a message to pause and be still, to surrender and trust (Neptune in Pisces)~  not always easy with so much pushing us forward while trying to resolve whatever we are entangled in. Yet trust we must (if we want to heal)

We are clearing old ancestral imprints ~ on top of that stuff  is pouring in from the collective unconscious ~ on top of our own issues coming up to be transmuted. That is a LOT. Heightened emotions, intense sadness, anger, grief, frustration, confusion, spaciness add to  moments of emotional volatility that can feel overwhelming. Support and self care are  important as we do the inner work (Mercury/Venus retrograde)

Yet this is not a regression, it’s a gateway. The eclipse portal takes us from one level to another - there's no looking back. A New Moons is a seed time... with eclipses described as  “forks in the road of destiny” .  We are planting seeds of intention ~ yet  we may not yet see clearly exactly where we are going - (especially with Neptune adding fog and chaos to the mix). Eventually Aries will burn its way through the fog - yet in the meantime, how can we still set a clear intention?  That will take trust - which brings us back to Pisces. And patience. Aries is not a patient sign  yet these lessons around self assertion will require much patience. Two steps forward one step back, with Chiron  in Aries activating old doubts about our ability to move forward. If you are questioning or struggling with how, where, why you go out into the world, Aries can and will provide the energy we need to step into the unknown - to take risks and create  new beginnings. It will teach us independence, leadership, initiating action, and most of all, courage. This is the sign of the warrior.

However, with the Aries Sun  being blocked/eclipsed, this may not be a straightforward process. We will need to feel our way through(back to Pisces) ~ and to do that we must slow down to a pace much slower than Aries would prefer.   Mercury and Venus   moving backward into Pisces will help turn our senses inward.  Meanwhile, Mars, the ruler of Aries,  has less energy in the watery sign of Cancer,  so slow down we must. Yet Mars is a fighter- it will win in the end.  First- Mars/Chiron  says we must clear the old emotional stuff tripping us up right now(easier said than done). Anger is a Mars lesson. How to us eit but not abuse it. That knee-jerk anger everyone is expressing everywhere these days - the adversarial me vs them energy that poisoning our human interactions (especially online). Yeah - that. Mars in Cancer is highly emotional and somewhat defensive. Not everyone is against you. And no you don't have to win every argument? (I am saying this to myself lol) Why feel threatened when someone disagrees with you? One of the 'Four Agreements' is about not taking things personally. And 'being impeccable with our word'.  What are we fighting for? Makes me think of this great song from the sixties (re the Vietnam war) (Link below lyrics).

"And its one two three - what are we fighting for?

Don't ask me I don't give a damn - next stop is Vietnam.

And its five- six - eight open up those pearly gates.

Oh there ain't no time to wonder why,

Whoopee we're all gonna die...

(Parents be the first on your block to have your boy come home in a box...)"

Country Joe and the Fish

Listening to this again feels so ironic - seems nothing much has changed - the war mongers are still at it. Talk about the wounded masculine- so many killed in useless wars -  when will it ever end.  I guess we need to sing louder!   Fixin to Die Rag

Mars is a warrior after all... and when squared Chiron in Aries is about the 'wounded warrior' . It is time for healing: we are having the bad  come to the surface so we can see it and heal it. Not fun to watch. The message is to  find and express a positive Mars (masculine) which includes healthy self assertion and positive forward action. Clear boundaries. Cause no harm. Respect others even as you step into your truth. Step into your power. Step into your Mars.

Meanwhile, the back and forth movement of planets moving over the bridge from Pisces to Aries and vice versa is activating the Aries point  (beginning of the zodiac)  creating a global effect of chaos confusion,  reaction, delusion. Anger. War. Venus in Pisces calls for peace. We all need to practice peace.  Every day in every way.  What if they gave a war and nobody came?

With the Aries Sun (ego) subverted by the eclipse -  we can let  the strong Piscean energy activate our compassion and caring.  Wouldn't that be nice?  yes there are cautions- the  nebulous side of Pisces can create a  fog of confusion - a kind of slippage where reality melts into unreality creating  misunderstandings, lies, confusion. Every day the news just gets more and more bizarre. So what we hoped would be straight forward turns out to be anything but. Good advice right now is to go slow -  stay low (in other words- keep your head down) (Aries rules the head).

This in-between energy also holds open the door to the imagination. and to the otherworldly. The liminal. The divine. This is the realm of the Bardo~ "an intermediate, transitional, or liminal state between death and rebirth".  "Metaphorically, bardo can be used to describe times when the usual way of life becomes suspended, as, for example, during a period of illness or during a meditation retreat. Such times can prove fruitful for spiritual progress because external constraints diminish. " Wikipedia

“This is perfect energy for inner journeying, for magic and synchronicity,  fairy encounters, mediation, accessing the angelic realms,  and  altered states of consciousness. This is a doorway to step beyond our physical selves: an entry point.
So our eclipse portal ends with another doorway.   Pisces, as the last sign of the zodiac, offers a dissolving of all that went before; and  like Alice in Wonderland, we will have to shrink small enough to get through the doorway.

And once we are on the other side -  a fresh start awaits us. A new cycle. These two energies (past and future) will continue to dance back and forth all year ~ so it wont be straightforward (I think you are figuring that out by now)

" The trick is to understand that when things dissolve, when you dissolve, you will not cease to exist ~ you will merely exist in a new way. What part of you has completed its mission and is ready to be retired? And what parts have been waiting in the wings to step forward onto centre stage?

Courage (Aries) is action in the face/midst of fear. This is a time for courage more than ever before. We are taking a collective quantum leap in consciousness right now~ and although this time has been prophesied about for many years - to say that the future is uncertain is to put it lightly. " Kaypacha

The Sabian Symbol (channelled messages about each degree of the zodiac) describes:

"A revision of attitude at the beginning of a new cycle of existence."

This is an emotional reboot. We are letting go  of  old paradigms.... we cannot go back.  As we move into higher levels of awareness and consciousness, our actions will become clear as Aries  gives us the courage to take the steps we need to take.  To begin: Step back. Be still. Deep breath.

Find your inner clarity.  Then ... open the door.

You know you want to! :)
