The Full Moon in Gemini:Gifts and gaffs.

We just had a Gemini Full Moon on Sunday Dec 15th (yesterday). I'm a bit late with this as I was busy expressing my Venus in Gemini's need to play and socialize. Fun! Things in general are exciting, enlivening, playful as well as frustrating, and destabilizing. What we focus on grows!

The Moon has moved on now into the emotional sign of Cancer, and will soon join Mars who is moving backward through Leo.  More play? Definitely more drama! Many of the other aspects will be in play (pun intended) for a while.

Gemini is  'ruled' by Mercury - the Trickster/Magician. Mercurious. The winged messenger. The rational mind, how we think and communicate. Also can be linked to madness... remember the Mad Hatter? Back on the day they used Mercury in hat felting and  hatters did often go mad (funny that they still put Mercury in our mouths via amalgam fillings. Silly humans)

A Full Moon in the sign of the monkey mind can be a catalyst for insanity,  or for our personal genius to come to  power through verbal expression.  "As you think therefore you are."  Jupiter has  expanded the energy field ~ amplifying this Full Moon energy into a dynamic creative dance. There is magic in the air  ~ and these amplified frequencies can help us tap into the higher mind. Things that seem fixed or stuck can  actually shift in a big way. Which way is the question...

Watch out for the monkey mind ~ our thoughts and ideas are ramped up right now  ~ and delusions abound (not everyone is actually a genius). People are all over-the-place. Discernment required. Gemini is a highly social sign,  as is the  Sagittarius Sun opposite. In fact , of all the planetary oppositions I find these two to be the most similar. They are both life long learners, communicators and teachers ~ though while Gemini focuses on the daily details,  Sagittarius focuses on the big picture (philosophy, travel, etc). Both like to talk (and talk, and talk); many interesting conversations will take place over the next few days.

There can a sense of mental overload and overwhelm with this  - Jupiter can stretch us too far, with a tendency to over do and take on too much. Given that it is now almost Christmas, that is a given for many people, and on top of that,  huge amounts of detail and  information are pouring in from multiple directions. We are also still feeling the rather frantic excitement via the  Moons contact with both Uranus and Jupiter just before the Full Moon.

Everything, everywhere, all at once!

By the way that movie is  a perfect expression of the kind of energy we are dealing with. Gemini's are endlessly curious and want to know everything and everyone. They also love to tell stories ~ and can sometimes get so lost in them that they doesn’t remember what is true and what is false (enter stage right:Neptune) A certain President-elect has a  Mercury/Neptune aspect. Need I say more?

Neptune is both a dissolver and an obfuscater - it blurs reality and surrounds us with a thick fog that can have us moving round and round in circles. We also get access to the nonlinear world ~ and although Geminis are intrinsically rational ~  this energy is anything but. Thoughts and perceptions will be coming up from the deep unconscious (Neptune’s realm) now,  making it easier to tune into our intuitive hunches yet also easier to get confused.

This is therefore a highly creative and innovative Full Moon~ creatives thrive in this kind of chaos.   And ~ in the midst of 'oh so much'  ~ there's an added message to 'be still'.  Slow down a little and make space for some quiet time and don't forget to pay attention to your dreams(keep a notebook handy by your bed). A portal is open through which we can access powerful messages and guidance, so tap into the dream-time and enter the stream of consciousness there.
This added potential for both inspiration and chaos  will continue all week
,  as we approach the Winter Solstice and the Sun leans closer and closer into a right angle square with Neptune, so best try to stay grounded (or perhaps you prefer to drift away). Watch out for mental delusions and fantasies (yours or others) , any sort of drugs or alcohol are going to have a particularly strong effect right now. This is a time for  listening and trusting that small, still voice inside that is whispering secrets of the universe to all who pay attention.  I've had some amazing messages, encounters and conversations in the last few days...

Just hours after the Full Moon, Mercury in Sagittarius started to turn around (called stationing direct) and was literally standing still.   This creates the Mercury storm- a time when things get stirred up and new information comes to light and/or secrets get exposed. For example, the story around the murder of the American Health Insurance CEO gets curiouser and curiouser by the day. We are definitely in Alice's playground at the moment (far down the rabbit hole).

So although the Full Moon is over, we are still on steroids. Find your centre, feel your breath go in and out (Gemini rules the lungs) Listen to your heart.

You know you want to!

These are wild times and the ground will continue to shift. Changes around our relationships continue ~ with Mars and Venus opposite stirring up our  libidos (opposites attract after all) as well as confrontations. Be cautious of the  tendency right now  to misunderstand each other (Neptune) and be aware that the urge to communicate is as strong as the urge to avoid and escape. Ha! If the  chimera of Neptune has you under her spell ~ try to stay focused. Keep your eyes and heart open. And have fun!

Everything is temporary. This too shall pass.
