Full Moon in Leo: Shine your Light. Claim your Power

 Today’s Full Moon in Leo (Friday Jan 26th) is packed full of explosive intensity. Leo calls on us to find and claim our personal sovereignty, while Sun/Pluto opposite urge us to claim our power. In Aquarius, this potent combo also calls on the power of the collective: Power to the people. Yet you can’t claim your power if you don’t know who you are.  Back to Leo: Find your Light and Shine that bright light into the world.

That's the gist of it. Here are the details:

Two weeks ago a New Moon in Capricorn planted the seeds for this Full Moon in Aquarius. That Moon was linked to the Collective Destiny points and also widely squared to Pluto; the very powerful dwarf planet stars yet again at this Full Moon. Pluto is the god of the underworld (other name is Hades) what Steven Levine calls the ‘hell realms’. It is also called the Destroyer as it strips us down to make room for new growth. This energy of transformation is the driver of our evolutionary journey - life death and transformation - and its presence at the bending (right angle to the nodes) at the first New Moon of the year indicates that this is going to be a year of profound collective change. In case you haven't noticed, that process has already started, and this year will accelerate things even more.

 Last week, both Sun and Pluto moved into Aquarius in unison, heralding the arrival of the New Age (or at least the next stage of its arrival). When planets are together/conjunct - it is seen as a seed time, something gets planted as their energies join to give birth to something new. This  occurred in the sign that represents the future, so we can rest assured that profound change is afoot!   And Mercury turning direct on the first day of the year was also highly significant, indicating the speed at which we will be thrust forward. Then today,  Uranus, the Awakener, turned direct. Looks like our collective minds are going to get blown ~ maybe not be today ~ and it perhaps not tomorrow ~ but the fuse has been lit and the rest will follow.

Meanwhile, there's a lot of doom and gloom going around about the future of life on planet earth ~ and although we are definitely in a time of big shakeups and wake ups ~ this is all part of the birth pains of the New Age that is dawning. Yes things are intense ~ its always darkest before the dawn. Yet something very significant is occurring, so don't give up quite yet.

Pluto begins by making us face the unconscious shadow aspects of whatever sign it is in; in Capricorn we saw the dark side of governments and corporations and they vie for global control. Pluto in Aquarius will be bringing up the dangers of the collective, and also reveal both the good and bad side of technology (hive mind) which includes digital currency, AI etc. Pluto is a revolutionary planet, and the acceleration of technology will be part of big changes as we enter the AI revolution. How we deal with it all will depend on the state of our consciousness; we are co-creators of our own reality after all.

 At its highest frequency, Aquarius pushes us to claim our individuality, while also helping us figure out how we fit into the collective.This Leo Full Moon shines alight on our unique gifts, while Aquarius asks us to contribute to the greater good. Aquarius represents a group made up of strong and unique individuals.

None of this can occur in a positive way without some level of self awareness. Leo rules the heart.  Power to the People = the Power of Love!

So yes, Pluto will also makes us aware of the darker side of the collective, yet its here to help us awaken. It rules the root chakra, which is all about survival, and the shadow side of Aquarius that can activate mob mentality. We've already seen some of that is recent years as the drive for power and control (Capricorn) drove efforts to manipulate the masses. Some have called it mass psychosis, and from what I've witnessed since 2020, looks like that is a real thing. Unquestioning obedience, triggered by fear, can make people do very strange things.

 

Pluto in its highest frequency  points to our capacity to face the shadow and transform ourselves, like the butterfly that energies from the cocoon, or the phoenix that rises from the ashes.

 The shadow of the group, the undue influence of peer pressure etc, is rooted in our need to belong. This Full Moon in Leo asks us how do we remain true to our self ~ while also acknowledging our connection to the greater whole? Uranus,The other revolutionary planet,and modern ruler of Aquarius, is also the the co-ruler of Leo as the Sun is in Aquarius. Looks like we are in for an awakening.

 

 Uranus has just shifted into direct motion today - signaling that the acceleration has started up again. When a planet switches direction is appears to sit at the same pint for many days- which will amplify the impact and takes it even deeper. Uranus can bring AHA moments, surprises or a sudden turns of events ~ all will be catalysts for emotional breakthroughs.

This also brings the possibility of emotional instability, erratic behaviour or mood swings.

Don’t let a little anxiety ruin a perfectly good awakening

Take good are of yourself as we cross over this rubicon/bridge. Not everyone will cross over at the same rate, but there is no going back.

Take time to go slow, stay oriented to your own true North. Old wounds that have been stirring are ready to be faced and healed (Chiron). And with Mars (action, aggression) and Mercury (thinking and communicating ) in tension with the collective destiny points ~ we might feel a bit restless or agitated  as the Full Moon amplifies our emotions even more.  Make sure you take some time for you today! Start with a deep cleansing breathe. You know you want to!
