New Moon in Leo shining through the fog

Note: Last month the post was delivered way after I posted. I am hoping to set up my own website soon... not very satisfied with blogger. In the meantime, even if this arrives late, the energies will ripple out all month; we will be feeling this for a while.

I am feeling very inspired by today's New Moon in Leo. It involves Sun (radiance) with Moon (emotions) and Venus (love) ... all being activated by Uranus the Awakener. This is electric. This is magic. Synchronicity is in the air.

You may notice there is also a bit of a fog obscuring things (Mars opposite Neptune) ~ which can feel somewhat stultifying. It may seem more difficult to act than usual, meaning some of us are feeling stymied, blocked, confused. Doubts may arise, or we may react (Mars) to misinformation (Neptune) or direct our energy toward something that doesn't turnout to be solid (Neptune dissolves what is solid).  Silly arguments (Mars) can arise over nothing (Neptune).

Patience grasshopper. Even if it feels like things are in a kind of suspended animation, magic is in the air.  Neptune obscures,  but Uranus brings breakthroughs. If you're stuck in a fog, a flash of lightning (insight) can light your way through.  Uranus gives us powerful access to our intuition, so even though it may be two steps forward, one step back, we will find a way through (perhaps in unexpected ways)

 

New Moons bring changing energies, and Uranus inspires and raises the vibration, often through unusual occurrences, surprises, chance encounters.  Synchronicity is at an all time high.

 

We also just went through the Lions Gate portal (August 8th),  a chance to align with and acknowledge our divine inner source and inner sovereignty, marking this as a powerful time for vision setting, intentions, and manifestation.  The Lion’s Gate Portal occurs at a time of the year when the magical vitality of the sun (the natural ruler of the zodiac sign Leo) is at an all-time high.  The star Fixed Star Sirius is once again visible after a period of it being invisible, and in ancient Egypt, this coincided with the flooding of the Nile, marking a time of fertility and rejoicing. As the star Sirius aligns Orion with the pyramids, it it said to open a gateway to the heavens.

The  Sun conjoined with Venus in Leo is about the heart, focusing our attention on our personal sovereignty, and how we shine in the world. Venus is the planet of LOVE. Do you bring your heart into everything you do?  Can you keep your heart open even in difficult circumstances? This is a moment of revelation, where we will see what may be stopping us from trusting ourselves, or trusting in life. 

 

Venus is also retrograde. Retrogrades point to an inner journey and personal process, while Venus (goddess of love) is about how we give and receive energy and love. Venus R in Leo is encouraging us to reflect on our relationships and our values, especially our relationship to our own Self (capitol S). Sun  with Venus  points to a turning point and  Uranus is illuminating and inspiring us to move forward in a new way.

 

This is a moment of rebirth. 

 

 

 There may be birth pains involved in this new birth. At the time of the lions Gate portal, the Moon in Cancer was linking to  Chiron, pointing to old emotional wounds rooted in family patterns revealing conflicts and angers (Mars) that have been niggling away like a thorn in our side. All of this is  now coming to the surface to be acknowledged and healed. We always have a choice how much we hold onto, and how much we are ready to release. 

 

Right now both the Moon and Venus are in the shadows - waiting to step back into the light. Venus retrograde is linked to Innana's Descent (I've written of her before). She was a Sumerian goddess that underwent a deep descent into the underworld,  where she was stripped bare and hung up to die. At the critical moment, she called out for help and elemental forces came to her rescue. Her re-emergence signifies the facing of our shadow self, and a stepping back into the light as a transformed being.

This combustion of Sun Moon Venus Uranus (Jupiter is in there too)  shine a blinding light that forces us to face our shadow. It may be time to deal with the deep sense of lack we feel at times, so we can claim the love we will need to cross over the threshold ~ the love which mystic poets say is already inside of us.

A New Moon is a seed time where we plant our seeds of intention for the coming month. This is an opportunity to let go of one more layer of anger, resistance or fear ~ and open our heart in a celebration of life and love. This as a beautiful blessing to help us break through those old doubts and blockages. We may be surprised how easy it is.

In terms of the shadow, Sun/Venus are shining a light on  issues from the past that stop us from feeling ok; old wounds that have created patterns of self rejection.  We need to love our own Self to be truly happy. It's an inside job.

 

Today's New Moon  opens up new ways of seeing those old stories around love and self worth.  Perhaps there's a new version of yourself waiting in the wings ~  waiting to take flight; the phoenix rising from the ashes. Start with today. Start with now. Start with self love.
