I’ve been working on the rail road, all the live long day 🎶

Full Moon in Capricorn July 3 2023

The Full Moon  reached its peak today  at 4:39 PDT, 5:39 MST, 7:39 EDT, 12:39 UK time … and is still looking very full and bright in the sky tonight. Its being called a super moon due to being closer to earth. I am not sure of how important that  is ~ these things tend to get a little hyped. Still, I do imagine the tides will be stronger and maybe our emotional tides as well. If your own planets align with any of the following info, you may find yourself howling at the Moon tonight.

A Full Moon brings whatever has been brewing under the surface to a head, especially the seeds planted at the most recent New Moon ~  which was strongly influenced by Neptune (see last blog post). Neptune is always longing for what it cannot quite reach; it blurs reality, and can leave us feeling un-grounded. On the positive side, which is indeed very positive in my opinion, Neptune calls us tap into universal life force energy through creativity, meditation, music etc. The choice required at the last New Moon was to either float away in denial or face what needed to be faced with compassion and grace and set intentions based on your own personal truth.

Now we are at a Full Moon in the serious sign of Capricorn ~ which is all about physical manifestation and  activating our drive to succeed, to get ‘er done, to climb that mountain! Capricorn is a serious old man  and a wise old goat; there's no running away from this task ~ he is demanding we grow up and take responsibility for our lives. With that also comes wisdom, maturity and mastery ~  if we are willing to learn.

And while it’s important to honor hard work and productive activity, there is also a warning that we can harm ourselves when we push too hard.  Chiron, at a right angles to both Sun and Moon, is the activating principle describing what needs to be integrated if we are to make full use of the Full Moon energy. For starters, is vitally important to take good care of ourselves (Sun in Cancer) and temper the urge to push past our limits. Don’t forget about self care, self love, self nurturance.

Chiron was a centaur who mentored and taught  heroic figures like Hercules, Achilles etc. He was accidentally wounded by a poison arrow and spent the rest of his life attempting to heal the wound. Through that process he developed deep compassion for the suffering of others, and the ability to help people heal. Chiron represents those hidden, hurt parts that require attention and healing.

In Aries, we meet both the warrior and  the child;  impatient, playful, aggressive.  Chiron here symbolizes wounds to the self; some kind of damage rooted in childhood that affects our sense of agency and our ability to direct our will in a conscious manner.  This need to act resonates with Capricorn's strong drive to accomplish something in the world. When our will forces are wounded, we either over-do or under-do, and both burn out or depression can result. If you find yourself jumping through too many hoops or feeling a little burned out, start with something as simple as drinking enough water.

Cancer, sign of the Moon and of the mother, speaks to our emotional sensitivities and our need for care and reassurance. Being highly empathic, Cancerians tend to care for everyone else, yet often forget their own self. Resentments build up and feelings of martyrdom ensue. There is work to be done (Capricorn is always about work)  to harmonize our outer yang drives with the more inward, yin need for emotional integration. Our western culture is so externally oriented, and because it values production and outcomes more than feelings and process, we all tend to be overly busy, and proud of it.

Thus speaketh Capricorn.

Adding to that drive, Mars (masculine, yang) and Venus(feminine, yin) have been super charged  as they hang out together in fiery Leo. Uranus at right angles is adding sizzle and spark, which means anything and everything can and will occur. I imagine many new projects as well as new lives will be created out of this fiery union. Let's see what emerges in nine months time lol.

Needless to say this is quite a dynamic, dramatic and volatile Full Moon that will express itself in a unusual fashion.   Surprise encounters can occur with Venus (love, relating, money) at right angles with Uranus (electric energy, sudden events, breakthroughs, unusual occurrences).

Everything, everywhere, all at once!

Yet overall, this is a solutions oriented lunar event.  The Full Moon opposite Sun and Mercury can activate mental breakthroughs and genius level insights: stay open to synchronicity.

And so it goes. The dynamic dance of the cosmos, as acted out on planet earth, continues to fill us with both wonder and dread.  Capricorn is also about integrity. "To thine own self be true".

Trust your heart, find your steps, and dance to the rhythm of life. You know you want to!

Happy Full Moon!
