Full Moon Eclipse ~ From Surviving to Thriving.

Welcome to the Scorpio Full Blood Moon eclipse.

Tonight's eclipse brings us access to the shadow side of life. Some won’t like it ~ others will dive deep and come up with great treasures! Called the Blood Moon, Full Flower Moon and/or Wesak Moon, it brings to a peak the energies that began at the New Moon two weeks ago.  Wesak is a sacred Full Moon that links to the birth of Buddha. "Wesak is the high-point of the spiritual year. Legend speaks of a sacred ceremony in which the Buddha, the Christ and enlightened Beings at the heart of all faiths deliver a special blessing to the world. As we link with this event, a great channel of light is created that uplifts all life."

Issues around self love and self worth are dominant right now - as we let go of old wounds and old  identities,  we transform  into a truer picture of who we are.  From Caterpillar to butterfly!

This chart is for  Eastern Daylight timezone.

Because this  lunar eclipse  sits on the South Node release point - there's a powerful opportunity now to move past what has held us back for a long time. Whatever name you give it - this is a powerful time to celebrate the power of deep personal transformation, as the Full Moon in Scorpio moves us from light to dark and back again. The eclipse portal (time between eclipses) has been an especially potent time and you may have felt a build up of pressure,  thanks to Saturn (karma) and  Pluto (transformation) -  and amongst other things - triggering survival fears and a deep resistance to change. Pandemics, war, money and food and supply chain issues etc can  all trigger our need for safety and security. We just want to feel ok! Relationship stuff is also up! Some of you will be feeling this deeply, so if you find yourself crying, or experiencing secret fears or  difficult  situations know that they are  wanting to be  brought into light.

Stuff that is coming up needs a safe, sacred space to be faced, healed, released -  as all that is stirring can be somewhat uncomfortable. Scorpio is very private and extra protective, so on one hand we must trust the instincts that want us to stay safe and  be careful who we let in at this time. Just don't let that wariness block your ability to dive deep because the things coming up will go sideways if they are blocked. If you find yourself acting compulsively or irrationally, or lashing out at others, take time to self soothe and get your bearings. This is intense stuff!  It  takes courage to do the inner work to face our wounds, and its often via a shock or crisis that we are forced  to face ourselves. Scorpio is the realm that most people ignore or avoid...  the taboo,  the hidden, the things we prefer to sweep under the carpet. Past cultures used shamans, plant medicine and deep magic to bring about the transformation Scorpio requires. If you have access to that great. If not, and you are feeling vulnerable, make sure you have some sort of support.  Resistance and stubborn fears (Saturn) make us want to  run away and hide. Finding a ritual  for release... fires, candles, water are all conduits for moving energy... is most helpful.

At the New Moon two weeks ago I made a figure that represented a difficult part of me  - the wounded parts I have finally outgrown. I wrapped it in bandages and put it into the  fire -  then afterward sprinkled the ashes into the river nearby. It was very cathartic - tears were shed -  and relief was felt. Now the next steps are beckoning and I feel challenged to step into the darkness to embrace what is hidden there. This is all about  feeling the fear and doing it anyway. One more step from darkness into light.  Tonight I will reflect on that as I sit again at a fire under the Full Moon eclipse. Maybe theres a song for release that needs to be sung.

This is not about spiritual bypass; it is important  to not move too quickly - there are gifts in the shadows - and heroes in the seaweed. (thanks Leonard) The darkening that happens at an eclipse asks us to pause. Feel. Stand in our pain  and in our shadow so it can speak to us and tell us how to proceed. We are called to go deep into the body and anchor ourselves at our core. What we are looking for is not outside of us, it's in us, always.

I said to my soul, be still, and wait without hope
For hope would be hope for the wrong thing; wait without love,
For love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith
But the faith and the love and the hope are all in the waiting.
Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought:
So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.

Scorpio holds our secrets and grudges, our attachments and traumas, and our deep ancestral wounds; perhaps there's a hidden issue that might not even be yours, it may have been  passed down through generations that you unwittingly picked up.  The past can be a teacher for us, a way to better understand our life patterns.  What is not yours that you can let go of now? What have you been hiding or protecting for so long? Look to see what area of your chart this eclipse passes through to get an idea of where changes may  occur. (tab at top for Pages takes you to 'Houses')

Sometimes an energetic shift occurs whether we understand it or not. Call it in. See what happens. This is a chance to remove one more layer, one more mask, one more old story we don't need any more...  so we can step more fully into our personal, authentic power.

We have traveled far through the eclipse portal over the last two weeks, it seems much longer than that. yet at the same time everything is  accelerated (Uranus the Awakener ) so - hold on for the ride!  For those who have chart aspects at late degrees of Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus or Leo,  you  will feel these shifts or changes more strongly  - especially if personal planets are involved (Sun, Moon,Mercury, Mars, Venus).    Seeds  that were planted at the New Moon (whether consciously or unconsciously)  are now germinating- take extra care of what you are putting out at this time,  because our ability to manifest is very powerful right now. The world does not need more hate - what the world needs now is Love sweet Love (can you tell I grew up in the 70's?)

Scorpio contains powerful warrior energy of self regeneration.

You are beautiful! You are powerful. You are divine!

AS the Scorpio/Taurus axis brings up survival needs and fear based instincts, Scorpio offers self protection as well as suspicion, while Taurus offers strong and steady (and stubborn) groundedness. Feel the earth- bless its abundance. This eclipse/shift could also involve relationships, or money, or our relationships with money, with all of it around our  personal sense of self worth (Venus). How do we show up on this planet? How do we show up for this planet.  Can we do it with grace? Can we move from surviving to thriving?

Reciprocity =  to give and receive. To give without losing, to receive without taking.

Scorpio also links to the root chakra and the sexual drive, activating our deepest secrets and desires. Addictions and obsessions that haunt us  are ready  be transformed (one step at a time). When we trust that we have what we need (Taurus) it is easier to let go of jealousy and control (Scorpio).  Taurus gets attached  to creature comforts, and Scorpio's addiction is  power and control. The higher frequencies around us now can aid us in stepping out of those root chakra  survival based drives to higher level of consciousness.

One last thing: if you prefer to stay away from harsh lessons, there is plenty of room for avoidance lol. The recent Pisces blessing still  floats in the air like a beautiful mist, it's purpose to connect us to the divine blessing that underpins this life. That portal can also be useful as an escape hatch, a way to get out of this linear realm. Drifting away in your imagination is not so bad, although drink, drugs and debauchery not always so good for us.  Plus with Scorpio,  you don't know what you might encounter in those alternate realities. Scorpio can trigger FEAR:  False Evidence Appearing Real -  Neptune  blurs the line between it all.

Ask. Look. Inquire. Question everything. Be present (instead of absent). And Trust that everything is unfolding exactly as it should be. And if its not- do something about it. Now that takes courage!

Mercury retrograde turns us back on ourself- and in Gemini - asks us to reflect and review our very process of thinking and speaking.  Be impeccable with your thoughts and your word; do not speak a lie and do not accept untruths. And don't make assumptions. Mercury retrograde can bring mix ups and screw ups- Ive already had a few! And in the background, Jupiter and Venus in Aries are speeding things up, so despite a couple of retrograde planets, some of us will be moving into hyper drive. Which makes it all the more important to look where you are going!!

So, as we move from darkness to light, from hate to love, we move from  Scorpio by releasing old fears,  into Taurus ~ by grounding to the earth and knowing our worth. Once we have gained (or even started) the mastery of self - we  can bring all of that juicy self love into the world.  The world loves lovers!

All for one, and One for all!

You know you want to :)

Note: These blog posts seem to be arriving as emails several days after I write them on the day of the New or Full Moons (I like to write at the peak so I can channel the energies). But these dynamics  are still in play for weeks or even months afterward... so don't worry ... you'll get it one way or another. This particular Eclipse lasts an hour - and  its effects will go on for months. Enjoy the deep dive that Scorpio brings.

ps ps: I just had a flash of the song to sing tonight at the eclipse ... a song of prayer and redemption.

"As I went  down in the River the Pray"
