New Moon in Aries: New Beginnings (Difficulty at the Beginning)
By the time you read this, the Sun and Moon will have joined together in the sign of Aries. New Moon's are an alchemical moment as Yin (Moon) merges with Yang (Sun) to create a New Beginning. This New Moon occurs at 12:25 am MST, 2:25 EDT, 7:25 UK time... Its been called the 'Beginning of Beginnings' as it happens on the first day of April, in the first sign of the zodiac. And New Beginnings are the perfect time to set new intentions.
Aries is the sign of of fiery initiative and bold leadership; the urge for movement that gets us up and going. They are the trailblazers: Impatient. Impulsive. Independent. Irascible!
Where is your Sacred Warrior within yearning to forge a new path?
Where is it time to release an old story and courageously face the fear of change?
In what areas of your life must you allow yourself to walk in Sacred Independence?
(Rising Woman)
Yet right now Aries’ ruling planet ~ Mars ~ is headed into a mash up with Saturn, which impedes and blocks. The Chariot Card councils us to 'feel the fear and do it anyway. '
Difficulty at the Beginning
A blade of grass pushing
against an obstacle as it sprouts out of the earth--
hence the meaning,
"difficulty at the beginning."
The time is beset with difficulties. The situation points to teeming, chaotic profusion; thunder and rain fill the air. But eventually the chaos clears up. A thunderstorm brings release from tension, and all things breathe freely again.
When it is a person's fate to undertake such new beginnings, everything is still unformed, dark.
Hence s/he must hold back, because any premature move might bring disaster. Likewise, it is very important not to remain alone; in order to overcome the chaos, one needs helpers.
Excerpt from Willhelm Baynes I Ching- by Akira Rebllais:Book of Changes # 3
There may be feelings of heaviness and frustration as Chiron, (wounded healer) - close to Sun and Moon - stirs up our vulnerabilities, and makes us more susceptible to self-doubt. Yet Chiron also brings the potential for deep healing. This brings a profound chance to begin anew - all we have to do is let go of past injuries. Easy right? Saturn reminds us that whatever holds us back is worth looking at, if only to decide, for once and for all, to finally let it go. That may not be easy, with Aries so impatiently trying to push us forward. Yet pause we must, to be sure our sails are fully mended and our boat is patched and ready to sail!
But to every mind there openeth,
A way, and way, and away,
A high soul climbs the highway,
And the low soul gropes the low,
And in between on the misty flats,
The rest drift to and fro.
But to every man there openeth,
A high way and a low,
And every mind decideth,
The way his soul shall go.
One ship sails East,
And another West,
By the self-same winds that blow,
'Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales,
That tells the way we go.
Like the winds of the sea
Are the waves of time,
As we journey along through life,
'Tis the set of the soul,
That determines the goal,
And not the calm or the strife.
Everything in the universe works in rhythms and cycles. Patience grasshopper. The beginning is near.
Amidst all the push pull that is going on, we can feel like we are driving with the brakes on (or - to stay with the metaphor - the anchor is still down). Moving forward with clarity will require patience, faith and trust. Enter stage left: Jupiter and Neptune together in Pisces - bringing a sense of creative possibility and waves of inspiring uplift. These are the winds we can sail on: the Winds of Grace that remind us that as long as our ship is sound, we will find our way. Our attitude (Mercury) is key at this time; it is being suggested that we face any difficulties with a determined and cheerful state of mind, knowing that things will work out in the end.
Waiting is not mere empty hoping. It has the inner certainty of reaching the goal. Such certainty alone gives that light which leads to success.
This leads to the perseverance that brings good fortune and bestows power to cross the great water. One is faced with a danger that has to be overcome. Weakness and impatience can do nothing. Only a strong person can stand up to their fate, for it is inner security that enables us to endure to the end.
This strength shows itself in uncompromising truthfulness [with oneself].
It is only when we have the courage to face things exactly as they are, without any sort of self-deception or illusion, that a light will develop out of events, by which the path to success may be recognized.
This recognition must be followed by resolute and persevering action. For only the person who goes to meet her fate resolutely is equipped to deal with it adequately. Then s/he will be able to cross the great water--that is to say, s/he will be capable of making the necessary decision and of surmounting the danger.
I ching # 5: Cheerful Waiting
There may be more storms to come - at the following Full Moon in Libra on April 16, the Full Moon squared to Pluto in Capricorn will bring more shake-ups and peak experiences. What we do now i.e. how we set our sails - will have a direct impact on how we respond to these future challenges.
The combination of Saturn Mars - alongside Jupiter Neptune comes down to one more metaphor!
Trust in Allah ~ but tether your camel.
You know you want to!
