We are still basking in the afterglow of yesterday’s  Scorpio New Moon - and still have a 24 hour window  (according to the people who know these things) to set intentions for the coming month. In fact- at the  New Moon we actually cant even see the Moon- its called the Dark of the Moon because its not visible. By now  a tiny sliver is starting to show - but if you missed setting your intentions – the aspects involved make this a super potent New Moon, so maybe we can widen that window just a little.

That works for me as I am late getting this together - after very busy weekend, with various distractions (putting together a Halloween costume for example/carving a pumpkin) My physical functioning is often somewhat challenged – so I am not on a strict timetable - it's a go with the flow kind of thing. Anyway, better late than never. I don't believe in prediction anyway, so a review of current energies  suits my style (that is possibly a terrible excuse for being late - oh well - I really did carve a pumpkin...)

Meanwhile - this remains  a pivotal moment to feel deeply and vision forward with new eyes. Whatever has been holding us back - a big part of us wants to break free. Unfortunately – or fortunately- depending on how it turns out - there are competing forces pulling and pushing us in opposite  directions - so we will need to be extra clear on what we want to see manifest. And even if we are super clear - there  still may be some unexpected outcomes.

Every month, the meeting of the Sun and Moon marks a new stage of development as the Sun moves around the zodiac wheel. This meeting or conjunction – called  ‘conjunctio’- is a sacred marriage of yin and yang –  a seed time where we begin to germinate our plans and next steps.

The Moon is in the sexy, sultry (and sometimes sulky) sign of Scorpio. Scorpio does not tolerate falseness or superficiality; it sees through peoples masks, and calls BS when it sees it. Scorpio insists on taking us to the depths, so take a moment to really feel into your soul - ask what it wants - and then let that vision lead you forward.

Scorpio is a wary, cautious sign -  it is not one to leap into the unknown without planning. But things are shifting quickly right now. Suddenly, and without warning,  anything and everything can and will happen. This is due to Uranus - the Awakener - sitting opposite the New Moon. So all bets are off. There’s a sense of anticipation in the air as well as some apprehension. Something is up - we just don't know quite what!!

A New Moon always brings some kind of shift- its just usually a bit more gradual. Uranus, on the other hand,  is calling for us to Leap!! Go for it. Take the plunge. To what and to where is the question. If you look at your chart to see where 4 degrees Scorpio and Taurus are- re houses(see tab at top of webpage) you can get an idea of where things might be shaking up a little.

Our relationships are the first place that surprises may occur. Perhaps you will unexpectedly meet someone new. Or lose someone you thought would be there forever. Or surprise someone. Or be surprised by someone.

Expect the unexpected!

 The tension between extremes right now can trigger  impatience,  anxiety or  dread (or all three together) which can cause us to seize up and end up doing nothing at all. Until we are shaken out of it. Fight or flight can set in. Or freeze.   Some will feel like they are driving with the brakes on -  wheels are spinning,  but  going nowhere. Then, suddenly, and unexpectedly,  you gain traction and go hurtling forward. This can be a good thing.... (or not).

Somehow you find yourself in a totally unexpected scenario - unplanned and completely unprepared for. Things have shifted and you didn't even see it coming. That's Uranus.

Highly creative - high frequency - higher mind. New insights. New ideas. New  energy.

Of course the whole world is spinning madly out of control at the moment- so in a way this is not a new feeling  as Uranus (amongst others) has been shaking us up a lot over the past few years -  its just seems to be getting more intense. That's mostly due to Saturn and Pluto sitting on the South Node of the Moon - the collective destiny point representing the past. I have previously  written about how  this is a time of  karmic reckoning - as we are come face to face with the results of our past actions – our collective karma coming home to roost.

Its not all bad. Overall there is a potential to shift stuck stuff (say that ten times!!) - with a sense of potential - or surprise - or unexpected opportunity.  Some of us may have the chance to reinvent ourselves. Some won’t.

Because - of course - there are blockages, obstacles, delays and warnings.  You didn't think this would be easy did you?!  Our impatience to break through frustrating situations can get us into more trouble than that which we are leaving. Sometimes it will feel like two steps forward three steps back . Or sideways! 

Uranus brings a sense of urgency - an impulsiveness and the instinct to act. Yet Mars/Saturn/ Pluto indicate blockages and challenges that must be overcome.  Clarity and caution required. This New Moon may light a match to the fuse that will eventually  blast us free of obstacles - or - we could blow ourselves up in the process!!
I frequently consult the I Ching- an ancient Chinese text and oracle that provides guidance in times of uncertainty. The two messages that came today were both about patience, persistence, perseverance - and the need for caution.

 #64 Before Completion

“Resist the rush to completion.
Anticipation of fulfilment may call you before you have fully absorbed the lessons of the journey.

Remember- the endpoint of this quest will only prove to be the threshold for another.

You are short steps from Mastery on this plane, yet you stride toward Ignorance of the challenges lying beyond. Savour this accomplishment.

# 5 Waiting   

This hexagram shows the clouds  in the heavens, giving rain to refresh all that grows and to provide mankind  with food and drink. The rain will come in its own time. We cannot make it  come; we have to wait for it. Strength in  the face of danger does not plunge ahead but bides its time, whereas weakness  in the face of danger grows agitated and has not the patience to wait.

Waiting is not mere empty hoping.

It has the inner certainty of reaching the  goal. Such certainty alone gives that light which leads to success. This leads  to the perseverance that brings good fortune and bestows power to cross the  great water.

One is faced with a danger that has to be overcome. Weakness  and impatience can do nothing. Only a strong person can stand up to their fate, inner security enables you to endure to the end.

This strength shows  itself in uncompromising truthfulness [with yourself].

It is only when we  have the courage to face things exactly as they are, without any sort of self- deception or illusion, that a light will develop out of events, by which the  path to success may be recognized.

This recognition must be followed by  resolute and persevering action. For only the man who goes to meet his fate  resolutely is equipped to deal with it adequately. Then you will be able to cross  the great water--that is to say, you will be capable of making the necessary  decision and of surmounting the danger.
