In the Light of the Silvery Moon : 2018 Here we come!

Welcome to 2018!

Monday's Full Moon in Cancer has blasted us into a fabulous New Year, which promises to bring  us some positive grounding after a highly charged and deeply unsettling year.    We will move from a dominance of Yang energy - Fire (action, adventure, inspiration ) and Air (thinking, analyzing) into the yin, receptive qualities of the Earth and Water (receptive, grounding, stabilizing).

Taurus (earth)  begins by containing and grounding the highly volatile and unsettled energy of Uranus, while Saturn  in its home sign of Capricorn will help provide more practical and pragmatic earth energy. Moving from Yang to Yin means a shift from outer oriented activity to inner entered receptivity.

It's time to move from out of our head - and into our heart!

That doesn't mean passivity. Mars (action, aggression) joined with Jupiter today  is full of vim and vigour and enthusiasm.  This is an excellent time to begin a project, focus forward and seize the day! Still - as Scorpio is a water sign -  Jupiter will be especially focused on emotional expansion this year.

This was emphasized  by the  powerful Super Full Moon  in the nurturing  embrace of  Mother Moon. As I mentioned in my last post - Cancer /Moon is the Mother - Capricorn/Sun the father. The long term focus is on healing our childhood wounding and family patterns - the Full Moon  starts the year off nudging us toward that goal. When our magical child becomes freed from shame and blame and societal conditioning - we will be free to express our true magnificence so we can truly manifest our soul destiny (North Node in Leo) .

Just as Jupiter was moving into Scorpio a couple of months ago, I had a powerful dream. In it there was massive flooding - cities were being completely submerged. I was trying to get out of the city I was trapped in - when I looked up to see a huge sea monster coming after me. Even as I scrambled to get away (*you know those escape dreams) - I looked up and recognized her somehow. I knew she was a 'she' and that she was benevolent - even though she did seem rather scary (huge).

The creature in my dream was primal - powerful - awe inspiring.  Even posting this picture gives me the shivers, and the one in my dream was waaaaaay bigger than this!  I woke up knowing I/we need to confront and embrace a deep archetypal energy, a part of me/us that has been submerged for far too long. It is time to  welcome  the wild feminine yin tide that is arising on planet earth after an era of suppression and oppression. The old era is dying and something new has arrived. Her arrival can feel overwhelming, yet  she is here to help us wash every clean,  so we can begin anew. Say hello to Jupiter in Scorpio!

I am not talking about 'Armagedon' -  or 'End Times' - BTW ; although the reality of coastal cities flooding is a very real possibility with global warming on our doorstep, for now I am interpreting this on an energetic level. The feminine element in all of us represents our feeling, soulful self, and the need for  emotional integration and healing.  Jupiter in Scorpio - points specifically to sexual healing, and the wounds of sexual shame carried by both men and women. As more and more abuse stories come out  - 'Me Too' - the need for healing has never been so evident.

We must watch out for polarizing narratives. Remember - we are all in this together. The Full Moon represents  opposite poles of the mother (Moon in Cancer ) and father (Sun in Capricorn) archetypes. Everything now points to   the importance of healing and  integrating masculine and feminine energies in order to move forward in a healthy way. There is no 'them' - there is only 'us'.

Luckily -  this Full Moon in  Cancer  has just bathed us in a soft loving embrace - whispering in our ear that everything is going to be all right. It's going to take some work - Saturn in Capricorn - and some changes on planet earth - Uranus in Taurus -  if we are going to be able to put things right. We must begin by aligning with our  our true magnificent - heart self - North Node in Leo -  so we can all shine our light into the world.

And you know what happens when people get together to shine their light?  Things get brighter!!!

Onward and upward!
