Surrender to LOVE Venus Retrograde ends Sunday

Venus  travelling backward in the sign of Leo has been a powerful influence  for weeks now drawing  us into the shadows and  bringing up unresolved issues around loving and being loved.

This is the planet that signifies how we exchange energy and shows how and where we are receptive to both love and money.  This isn't about sex (thats Mars job), it's about the feeling values involved in relating to each other. As it happens though, Mars is currently snuggled up to Venus in Leo, so theres a lot of juicy energy available to us if we can handle it!

In the midst of all this creative flow we will have to  make peace with  unresolved issues around love and intimacy.

As she turns direct on Sunday and begins her climb back up toward the light, Venus  reappears in the eastern horizon as the Morning Star (before her retrograde motion she was in the western sky at sunset hanging out with Jupiter).  Her decent has been a difficult passage of self through the hidden corridors of  our deepest unconscious, amplified by Lilith (disowned feminine) hanging out at the North Node in Libra (sign of relationships) and Saturn (planet of karmic lessons) in Scorpio (shared resources, sexuality and death).

Lilith represents the rejected feminine in all of us, and Venus stands for the love we have always been seeking.  So much of our relationships remain unconscious as we try to get our unmet needs fulfilled by others.  We expect so much from each other. Or so little.

A lot of the astrology in the last few years has been directed toward making us more aware of these dynamics so we can heal our hearts and free each other from our unconscious  projections (the good and the bad) and blame. To do that we need to look in ht mirror of relationship and recognize the face we see there is our own.

"It is an excellent time to go into, sit with, feel, and heal past relationship woes, hurts, and failures. It is a time when memories can get triggered, feelings re-emerge, and judgments of ourselves and others come to meet us. It is such an opportunity, if we can actually let them come up, not ignore and stuff them back down (where they create dis-ease) and step from judgement to a state of vulnerable inquiry for Spirit to work magic within our hearts, bodies, and souls." Kaypacha

The North Node of the Moon signifies the soul intention of humanity at any given time. As it has passed through the sign of Libra over the past year or so,  it too has been getting us to examine our relationship and partnerships with others.   Libra wants balance and harmony rather than confrontation and conflict. Aries opposite needs autonomy and freedom to thrive. Getting the two in balance has been part of the lesson of this last cycle.

This plus Venus's  decent into the underworld may have opened up a world of un acknowledged feelings.  This stuff coming up has been hidden a long long time and it is raw and sometimes even rotten. A cleansing is required, and maybe even some kind of sacrifice. SOmething has to be let go of.
We may be required to stand apart from others for a time...  to gain some perspective. The risk of loss can cause fears to arise. It's hard sitting in the dark, not knowing what will happen. Yet that is where the most profound shifts happen.  But we have to have patience and we have to wait.

“I said to my soul, be still and wait without hope, for hope would be hope for the wrong thing; wait without love, for love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith, but the faith and the love are all in the waiting. Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought:  So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.”

 T.S. Elliot

This is about the renewal of the heart.  Take care of yourself and be gentle with each other.

The process of peeling away the layers requires much trust.  We may have to let go of  our precious notions of what 'should' or shouldn't be. This will clear the way for something  sweet and new and even better to emerge, yet we really have no idea exactly what that will be or what it will look like. That is why trust is essential.

Neptune's powerful influence increases the feeling that nothing is in our control. As the planet of the unconscious mind amplifies both our fantasies as well as our disappointments, sweet surrender is the only way to go. But one must be careful what we surrender to. Not everything that  we are drawn to is real or even of value. We are called to hone our skills of discernment; Virgo's influence  helps us to pierce the veils of illusion and zero in on what is essential.

Lastly, Saturn in the last degree and critical of Scorpio increases the pressure to deal with the disowned, shadowy parts of our psyche that cause so much havoc from beneath the surface. We have been digging in the dark for a while now and uncovering  secrets long buried. Sexual and survival issues may be triggering our shame as hidden memories lying in the shadows rise to the surface...  requiring us to face our deepest fears about love.

If someone  gets really close, what will they find out about me?

So much is being uncovered, recovered, discovered, and all  for our healing and for our release.

The energies working on us now are not for our torture (although sometimes it may feel like it) but for our renewal. Only a whole happy human being can be a good companion to others and suitable steward on planet earth. So much destruction has taken place due to our disconnection from ourselves, each other and from source. What is being peeled away now is what no longer serves us. We may cling to the familiar with all our might yet in the end we will profit by our loss. All we really have to lose is our suffering, our pain, our ignorance; our false self.

Time to surrender control and allow healing to happen. You know you want to.

Venus reminds us that our destiny is Love.
 Leo gives us courage.
The lesson is trust.
The challenge is to surrender.

Kahlil Gibran on Love

When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams
as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.

When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, "I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.
