It's Gonna Take a LOT of Love

If you look in the western sky just after sunset you can see Jupiter  (joy, expansion))Venus (love, money)and Mercury (thoughts and communication) huddled together in the twilight glow.

This beautiful combo is sitting in the radiant sign of Leo activating the urge to be seen, heard and loved. Leo rules the heart and if this energy does not open your heart I don’t know what can.

This is all about our magnificence, our truest deepest knowing that we are each a  perfect manifestation  of love and joy.

Yet  a tense square from Saturn to all three planets (our joy, our love, our thoughts) may cause us to question the truth of that magnificence.  Even in the midst of all this positive energy, we may begin to doubt ourselves. Our wings begun to feel a bit heavy. We are not so sure we really can fly.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Ever heard the saying "The Brighter the light, the darker the shadow..." ?

Some of us are right now in a delicate process  of shedding layers of old conditioning. We want to let our light shine, yet we hesitate.

 There’s a sense of something shifting, changing, evolving at a rapid rate. I wrote last week about both Venus and Uranus turning retrograde. We may need to revisit something (or someone) in order to move forward in clarity.

Symbolically, on  August 11th Venus is  going to disappear behind the Sun entirely, then will reappear a week or so later (August 24th) as the Morning Star when Venus again appears to move direct. In the meantime, when the goddess of love goes  underground, our fears can get activated, just as the square from Saturn in Scorpio causes us to revisit deeply held fears  around being loved and or lovable. Reversals can and will occur during this period as we re-evaluate our relationships as well as our finances.

Saturn is in a critical degree of Scorpio at the very end of its journey through this not-so-easy sign. It has brought us face to face with our disowned and denied self… and at the core is the fear that we are not good enough.  There is a  hidden belief that we are tainted flawed, imperfect. Saturn will show us that one more time. This is where we are most hard on ourselves and feel the most constricted and ‘less than’. The Lord of Karma shows us  where our lessons are, where we have to grow up and take responsibility for our lives. It can also limit our bigger vision and keep us yoked to the treadmill.

It's gonna take a lot of love...

Thank goodness for Jupiter. Thank good ness for Leo! Thank goodness for goodness!

More help  arrives  from Neptune in Pisces...  reminding us that the most real and most profound love does exist and it is inside of us and it has nothing to do with a big ego.In fact Neptune is the ego melter. Yet  what Neptune brings is deep healing....  the bestest, sweetest, most sublime  feeling that reminds us of  something so subtle yet so powerful that can melt the hardest heart.

This is about BIG LOVE.
It's about REAL LOVE.
It's about  who we are!

And...  its a process that will unfold as much as we let it.

A lot will be shifting and morphing over the next few weeks as Saturn and Jupiter dance their dance. Mars will be moving into Leo shortly, while Jupiter heads into Virgo. And  when Saturn finally leaves Scorpio in a couple of weeks many will breath a sigh of relief (whew) !

Meanwhile,  this push pull between Jupiter (Expansion) and Saturn (Contraction) will be like kneading dough; it will push us and stretch us to make us more elastic so we can rise to greater heights.

Kahlil Gibran on Love

When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams
as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.

When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, "I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.
