AUTUMN EQUINOX Weighing all things to make them equal

The Autumnal Equinox brings everything into balance as the Sun moves into Libra, sign of the scales.  As the seasons shift, Autumn begins in the northern hemisphere and Spring begins in south. Today, just for a moment, day and night are equal all over the world.

Sun in Virgo recently prompted our increased focus and effort, getting us to pay attention to details. The harvest Moon in Pisces brought us a fullness of feeling and imagination.

Now Libra, the sign of beauty and love, wants us to harmonize with others. To do that, we must first find the balance in ourselves.

Venus, ruler of Libra,  sits exactly on the North Node of the Moon, called the Destiny Point, marking a powerful focus on how we love and partner with others.

Saturn is there too, adding to the significance of this aspect.  Saturn in Scorpio (see tab above) … is the task master, the planet of karma that shows us our lessons and where we need to grow up and face the music. It’s about what we need to let go of to move forward in our lives. This meeting of love and karma at the destiny point represents a karmic reckoning, a need for our relationship patterns to shift.

A few weeks ago  a strong focus on Juno got us to look at marriage patterns as reflections of our conditioned ideas around commitment and partnership.

The current (no pun intended) Grand Trine in Water is putting us in touch with our emotions in a powerful way that can sometimes be overwhelming. Jupiter in Cancer, part of that trine aspect, has been waking up a deep sensitivity and need to nurture and be nurtured. There is a focus on rising feminine power, long suppressed and defiled in a patriarchal world.

Saturn in Scorpio has been getting us to dig deep and remove all that is no longer serving our highest good. And Pluto, co-ruler of Scorpio, has just turned direct … adding to the push .

Scorpio is about the shadow self, the parts of ourselves that we have repressed and denied or ignored. It’s hard work to descend so deep into our own psyches. Yet if we don’t those unconscious patterns play havoc in our relationships. And how can we love ourselves if we have parts we hate or deny?

Saturn and Venus in Scorpio is about facing it all and loving it all. This is transformative love.

Venus will also be squared to Mars in Leo, causing  friction between masculine and feminine energies.

Venus is the goddess of love and beauty, harmony, balance. Mars is the god of war and aggression. Venus is about relating, Mars is about desire.

This dance will enliven our awareness of each other as well as bring up more of the issues Saturn is forcing us to deal with.

This is the Year of the Snake after all … where we  shed a skin or two as part of the emotional cleansing.

The focus on Saturn in Scorpio at the Destiny Point shows there is an imperative to look at our unconscious patterns in relationships. We are all being asked to ‘step up to the plate ‘ and take responsibility for what we are manifesting in life and in the world.  It’s so easy to blame others, yet the mirror of relationship points us squarely back at ourselves.

The thing is, it really is all about love. If we don’t love and accept ourselves at the deepest level, how are our relationships going to work? And if we cannot relate peacefully to each other, how will there ever be peace in this world.

As within, so without.

Happy Peace Day  by the way  (yesterday, Sept,21)

Did you do something to celebrate Peace? I know it needs to be more than just one day, but it is not a bad thing to start there. I had a most inspiring day… watched a wonderful talk with Jeremy Gilley (founder of International Peace Day) and Prem Rawat (Jedi Peace Warrior) about bringing peace to the world as well as finding it in our own self.

See this excellent talk here: "Peacemakers"

Maybe one day we will all discover that love really is our essence and perhaps knowing that will bring the balance and harmony we seek.

And this is what Venus and Saturn in Scorpio want us to do. Let go of the tragic stories and discovery the reality.

The feminine power is rising. It is about authentic relating. It is about feeling our feelings. It is about honouring the feminine, about nurturing and being nurtured. It is about honouring mother earth.

Once we find that inner balance and harmony, we really can be the change we want to see in the world.

Namaste.
Peace be with you.
