Leo New Moon: Shine Your Light

Tomorrow is a New Moon in Leo as the Sun and Moon join up in that magnificent sign. On this occasion we all get a chance to shine and dance on center stage!

If you haven’t noticed, it’s been a bit of an intense week in the area of personal relationships due to Venus, planet of love moving opposite Pluto (the Destroyer!!) Power struggles and stand offs have been happening under this influence (I can vouch for that… yikes!)  If you have to deal with someone you have issues with, try to be extra diplomatic. Good listening skills help!

There’s a stubborn factor created by Mars and Saturn conjunct (together) in Libra  (sign that rules relationships and partnerships) and they were also squared the Moon in Cancer over Monday and Tuesday.  Ouch! If you are nursing an emotional hangover, this New Moon will be the perfect remedy.

Just be forewarned that Venus is still opposite Pluto, triggering some deep insecurities around love and power. Pluto in Capricorn in tense aspect to the rebellious Uranus can  trigger issues with authorities and heighten power struggles as we wiggle to break free of those we perceive to be controlling us.  Our sense of personal power and self worth will be challenged by anyone we give our power away to.

The Mars Saturn thing is in there like a runaway train hitting a cement wall. Mars is the planet of action and Saturn creates limitations and obstacles (for our own growth of course) The proverbial  'being stuck between a rock and a hard place.'

Like I said…Ouch!!  

But don’t despair; this lovely New Moon in Leo will amplify everyone’s  self-expression, dignity, confidence and courage. And yes there is room on the stage for everyone who craves a little attention.  We will all have an opportunity to taste such a sweet, playful exuberance combined with creativity, warmth, generousity (all Leo traits) that it will override (for a moment at least) some of the ongoing tensions of these crazy times.

A New Moon marks the beginning of a new emotional cycle. It gives us the chance to sweep away the past and start fresh. The violence and tensions of the recent Mars aspects to Pluto and Uranus have left a lot of people exhausted and recovering from traumas of one kind or another.  This is a chance to take a breather and start over again.

Leo’s dramatic, radiant warmth will reinvigorate plans, renew hope and restore faith. Neptune opposite will also add a dreamy, spiritual  dimension to this New Moon. The misty veils of Neptune can  create delusions and illusions, so dream big, but make sure you ground your dreams in reality.

Saturn (structure) and Mars (action) provide that positive grounding and support to both Neptune and the Sun and Moon, and Venus adds beauty and grace to the mix.  This is an excellent time to start new creative projects. Venus also rules money, so there is a sense of optimism and more positive cash flow.

There will also be an opportunity for deep healing and inner surrender brought in by Neptune and Chiron, which will help to balance the grandiosity of the Leo ego. Neptune in Pisces activates our deepest longing for an inner source, and diminishes, or at least balances a tendency toward excessive self-aggrandizement.

 Watch out for Jupiter’s square to Neptune blowing things way out of proportion. A double warning to keep your feet on the ground while you scheme your perfect schemes. An aspect from Uranus brings an element of surprise and/or uncertainty, adding a visionary touch to this altogether fabulous New Moon.

It’s great to feel positive and dream big… as long as we make sure there are solid plans and means. Don’t let Neptunian fantasies or that famous Leo pride distract you from keeping it real.

Finally, if you want to narrow the influence and focus of the New Moon as you set your intention, see what house it sits in in your birth chart. If lies in the 4^th house for example, this could be an excellent time to buy a new home or start on a new home based project, particularly one that beautifies your home environment.
