A Virgo Full Moon Full of Surprises

This Full Moon in perfectionist Virgo signifies a culmination and a release. It is the last Full Moon of the astrological year…as the Sun moves from Pisces (water) into Aries (fire) marking the beginning of spring.

A push pull between details, practicality and criticality (Virgo) and the dreamy, sometimes defensive, other-worldliness of Pisces, may distract us until we run smack into the fiery intention of Aries.

Uranus in Aries is already kicking some serious butt…don’t underestimate its power to agitate and awaken through upheaval and sudden change.

In these last days of transition, things are at a peak. With the Sun already so close to Uranus at the beginning of Aries (Aries Point), this Full Moon may pack a bit of a punch. Uranus likes to shock and surprise us.

Sudden erratic decisions and emotional outbursts may occur with the Moon opposite Uranus, with Virgo’s perfectionism becoming a reason to bolt. Finding middle ground is necessary with any kind of opposition, and especially important with a powerful Full Moon energy driving us to extremes.

This so-called supermoon appears bigger because it hangs out closer to the earth than usual. Full Moons tend to amplify emotions, especially, in this case, for Pisces, Virgos, Sagittarius or Geminis…or anyone with major planets or Ascendant in these signs.

According to Eric Francis (Planet Waves: sidebar) a close square to the Moons Nodes (points where it crosses the elliptic of the earth) in Gemini and Sagittarius, creates a similar impact to an eclipse.  This amplifies the Full Moon energy and brings us another  Grand Cross of sorts. The Sagittarius point connects to the Galactic core….which represents our true purpose…our spiritual home.

“The square between the Sun, the Moon and the Galactic Core suggests strongly that we have to seek inwardly for our spiritual connection. It also represents events that might provoke us to do that, and I would say if you have not noticed that fact yet, this is an awesome time to pay attention.”

“Do these categories mean anything? They mean a lot less than the statement that, as the astrology of the spring and indeed the next few years develops, we will have increasing access to all the dimensions of who we are -- if we want to access those inner experiences.”

Pisces draws us to find the perfection that lies within...to discover a joining of todays opposite forces. These are powerful times, and as the known world undergoes great transformation, destruction, and upheaval, there are also portals opening toward an inner reality.

“Between the poles of the conscious and the unconscious, there has the mind made a swing:

Thereon hang all beings and all worlds, and that swing never ceases its sway.

Millions of beings are there: the sun and the moon in their courses are there:

Millions of ages pass, and the swing goes on.

All swing! the sky and the earth and the air and the water; and the universe itself taking form:

And the sight of this has made Kabir a servant.”
