Full Moon Virgo Awakening the Dream

How does your imagination colour your world?   What do you long for? What do you dream of? Where do you go when you feel lost, spaced out, confused?

We are about to find out!

This Monday, February 22, the Moon will be Full in Virgo, opposite the Sun and Neptune in the sign of Pisces. Despite the Moon being in detail oriented, logical Virgo, this is a very non linear,  creative, and  unusually dreamy Full Moon.

Pisces is the energy of an eternal, ethereal source, the ultimate  oneness. That which we are really always seeking in everything we do (whether we know it or not) ... a way to return to our original innocence.

A way to remember ....

Virgo is about purification and healing. It is also about service and the striving for perfection. The Sun in Pisces opposite the Full Moon  represents a call for conscious awakening.  If we answer this powerful pull toward redemption, we can heal the illusion of separation. The trick is to do it consciously.

Neptune is strong as it activates powerful energies from deep in the unconscious watery realm. Both Neptune and Pisces represent intuitive, almost psychic aspects of our being.

Both intoxication or enchantment are part of Neptune's influence. What cannot be seen in the 'real' world has reality in our dreams.  And both can bring  benefits and detriment. That longing can lead us into a world of illusions and delusions. We try to fill that longing with people, objects, substances. Some of them seem to work, for a while.

I just watched the film 'Amy', about Amy Winehouse; a very tragic example of an amazingly  talented and highly creative person getting lost in the land of sex, drugs and alcohol (and fame and fortune). She became a poster child for the tragic tortured artist! It's very common with creative people. Opening oneself to the creative flow means a weaker hold on the day to day existence. The pull of the otherworldly can be dangerous. Yet this energy is  what creates beauty in art and  music  and poetry.

So tread wisely in the realm of the watery muse. Or learn to swim! If you  need a way to ground yourself while this mystic river flows through us and around us,  Saturn can provide some boundaries. There is tension with Saturn so we may resist being contained or confined.  Virgo brings discernment and healing.  Mars in Scorpio urges us to break on through to the other side! Expressed through dancing or art or music, writing or meditation,  this energy can free us and heal us.  If we let it.

Find a space away from the madding crowd and allow your muse  to lead you.

You know you want to!

True Love

Sunday is Valentines Day, when the world celebrates love in all its forms. Romantic love is the obsession of western culture (perhaps because we have forgotten what love really is?) What I know is that it is more than that. Love that wants to own is not really love. That  is attachment, desire, lust. But not love.

Love that is free can still cherish,  nurture, embrace. Love is all that and more.  Happy Love Day !

Kahlil Gibran on Love

When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams
as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.

When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, "I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

What's going on in the sky: Venus, planet of love and money, has recently been  transformed through its proximity to Pluto, god of the underworld. None can rest as Uranus (the Awakener) joins the game and continues to bring big surprises. And all this while Mars (planet of action and desire) in a tug of war with the Sun activates our warrior instincts. Are you friend or foe? Who's side are you on? How deep is your love?

Jupiter sitting on  the Collective Destiny Point says: I will expand you until you do not recognize yourself. Let yourself go. You know you want to.

Breaking down and breaking through.
Shift or get off the pot!

Belief systems continue to break down to make way for new visions and new possibilities. Concepts that worked yesterday are no longer valid. Thought-patterns you hold onto appear painfully limited now. Don't cling to old beliefs, old habits ... or old relationships. Let love renew itself. Let love be new!

"True love must be free.
its spirit cannot be,
bound to anything,
like a bird it must have wings
To fly beyond the sky
in its heart it needs to fly
to the source of love it goes
and in gong the love grows... and grows....
... and grows."

New Moon in Aquarius: Whats your vision?

Monday's New Moon in Aquarius is going to put the 'kick' in 'kick start!'  Mars in in the mix to make sure we really do finally get going after a month of delays and reflections and inner musings. Now its time to get a move on!

We are getting ready for some NEW Energy.

Aquarius is  the 'quirky' in all of us, and helps us think outside the box. Its time to break free of whatever has been holding us back, although it may take some effort, the planets are lined up in our favour. Aquarius is the maverick who doesn't like to follow the crowd, and yet, ironically, also represents the collective, the group. But its a different kind of group. Think 60's and hippies and free love, united in a cultural revolution. Don't worry, you dont have to grow your hair and start wearing beads (unless you want to). The age of Aquarius is about defining our individuality as well as recognizing our unique connection to all humanity, based on equality and love for all.

We're all in this together.

Hmmmmm. Mars presence may challenge all this peace and love stuff, although it will help us fight for what is right! Use the Mars energy to benefit the whole group in some way and you will be on the right track. For example:  my friend Angie  is working to support Syrian refugees in Calais; raising funds, bringing over coats, shoes, clothing, collecting old cell phones etc. She has a lot of Mars in her chart and I so admire the way she is using it in combination with some good ol' human compassion to help those in need.

Aquarius, is called The Water Bearer. That's funny, giving Aquarius is an air sign. The image signifies the universal waters of life, and Aquarius  represents the whole of us as we wander through our journeys here on planet earth. We are 'one',  yet we are also 'alone'.  There's always a time for standing on our own two feet and a time for joining with others. Aquarians are a visionary sort. They see outside the box. Unconventional is an understatement. Even if on the surface they seem rather ordinary, there is always something quirky about this sign.

Aquarius will help bring us the detachment and discernment needed to make clear decisions. That will be most helpful in the midst of so much  fiery reactivity brought on by Mars (and Venus Pluto).  It also represents the internet and the way we can all connect globally. Our thoughts and words can travel far, with much potential for good (or bad)

The Mercury retrograde urged us to reflect and  think about how we use our constructive energy (Capricorn). Now Aquarius bring alive the visionary in all of us as we endeavour to do something positive in our lives and in the world.

On this New Moon its time to plant the seeds that will soon sprout  new possibilities.  We've had to wait a bit so we could be clear on what and who we wanted. As Mercury moves forward over lost ground,   its full steam ahead, with the caveat to take things step by step (Saturn) and plant your seeds in fertile soil (Venus Pluto Capricorn)

Well almost full steam ahead. Just until Monday we are  sitting in what is called the 'Dark of the Moon', a pregnant pause before the new Moon cycle begins; one last reflection.  Many are now looking to see where exactly the chips have fallen after an intense Pluto ruled week.  Old loves may have reappeared (Venus Pluto) only to be vanquished again. Or maybe they are sticking around this time. Some are still in the process of figuring it all out. As I said in the last post, there is a fated quality about these recent energies, as we come to forks in the road of our destiny.

Jupiter's influence showers blessings on all, and rekindles our faith in humanity. Saturn is there to temper our enthusiasm with a bit of caution. Best to look before you leap.

Overall,  New Moons are  pure alchemy. As the Sun (masculine) and Moon (feminine) conjoin they create seed energy to carry us forward.

Good to know there are transformative forces at work within us and around us. Make a wish and let your New Moon intention carry you forward!

How deep is your love?

This weekend we are entering a powerful, passionate field of love. We can expect lots of fireworks this weekend as
Moon (emotions)
Venus (Love),
Pluto (death transformation)
and Mercury (communication)
all meet up in Capricorn.

If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.
This may be a fateful weekend  as these powerful energies let loose.   An old flame could reappear under this transit. Time to finally let go? Or perhaps those flames get rekindled! Some wont be able to handle it, and will walk away, while others will stick around to enjoy the play.

Financial losses or gains could also be dramatic and sudden. (Venus rules love and money).  Let the chips fall where they may.

On Sunday, the New Moon in Aquarius will kickstart a new wave of energy that signifies a fresh start.  New Moment, New choice!

Jupiter lined up with the North Node destiny Point is about realigning  our relationships to  our life purpose. What doesn't fit has to change or go. This process has been going on for a few years now, as we take the next step in peeling away the layers surrounding our authentic core.

As we go through this release of old habits and core beliefs, there is an automatic shift in awareness, Jupiter can trigger completions by  expanding us beyond the current situation or dynamic. Whatever happens, this energy  requires a release of some kind.  Its exact conjunction to the North Node in Virgo signifies we are at an important fork in the road moment. There is a possibility of deep healing through joyful expansion. The desire to be of service in this world (Virgo) could inspire us to step up to the plate in some way.

And even if the Pluto Venus energy brings you some kind of ending, you can be sure it is opening the way for glorious new beginnings.

This doesn't necessarily mean the literal death of a relationships (or of your money) although it might.  It does  mean that old patterns are no longer tolerated and will get swept way to make room for a joyous renewal of some kind.

This energy wants to free us up to love deeper and more profoundly than we ever have.

Although there is no doubt this could be a juicy weekend for some, these fires are not just burning for those in one to one relationships. It's really about transforming the way we love, be it with another or in connection to  our own self. 'Love' is much more than our romantic fantasies. In fact it may be those old projections that need to go to make room for something completely different.

Uranus offers the chance to free ourselves from self limiting patterns, as we go through an awakening around  how much we love and value (or don't) our own self.

I will be back tomorrow  to talk about Sunday's New Moon in Aquarius. Where it falls in your chart (see house list in top menu)  will show where to revision some aspect of your life (most probably the one that is currently undergoing this transformation)

The Chinese New Year is also upon us as we step into the playful year of the Fire Monkey. There is a fresh breeze on its way that will  blow away the ashes of the old structures in our lives. This new perspective  will  help shift us into the next stage of development. All this is moving toward fulfilling the mandate of the new era (age of Aquarius)  based on a deeper, broader  understanding of universal love and the  recognition that we are all in this together.

Meanwhile,  sit back, let go and  enjoy the ride!

You know you want to!

Feb 2nd Imbolc, Candlemass, Groundhog Day

Today is Imbolc, the halfway point between the Winter Soltice and Spring Equinox.

At this time we pause and look hopefully toward the coming spring. It may still feel cold and dark in the northern hemisphere, but we can feel a shift as each day gets incrementally longer.

A Celtic ritual at this time is to light a candle  to invoke the light and say a prayer or blessing. In The catholic version called Candlemass,  candles were blessed, there was much feasting to be had, and the drab days of February suddenly seemed a little brighter.

The Irish goddess Brighid is the keeper of the sacred flame, the guardian of home and hearth. To honor her, purification and cleaning are a wonderful way to get ready for the coming of Spring. In addition to fire, she is a goddess connected to inspiration and creativity.

Brighid is known as one of the Celtic "triune" goddesses -- meaning that she is one and three simultaneously. The early Celts celebrated a purification festival by honoring Brighid, or Brid, whose name meant "bright one." She was honored with a sacred flame maintained by a group of priestesses...

Blessings of the growing light
Blessings of the quickening earth
Blessings of the morning chorus
Blessings of the first shy flowers
Blessings of Nature waking
Blessings of Maiden singing
Briganti’s fire light your path
Briganti’s blessings on your hearth

In North America, we have replaced the goddess with a rodent!

On Groundhog Day it is said that if the groundhog comes out of his hole and sees his own shadow, he scurries back inside for six weeks more winter.  The film 'Groundhog Day' is a moral tale about repeating  mistakes over and over again until we 'get it". It's totally hilarious,  while also demonstrating how easy it is to stay stuck in old patterns.

This theme of facing the shadow fits well with current Scorpionic themes of  change, death and transformation.  Sun/Mars and Mercury/Pluto influences continue to bring  deep transformation (and confrontation) to some of us. (see last post)

 How's that moral inventory going?

Do we face our shadow or go back underground  till we are ready to come up into the light?  Though the Pluto Mercury influence is beginning to wane, we can still feel the pressure to go deep, let go of our old stuff, and speak the truth. We are clearing the way for the fresh new energies that are on their way.

Till then, light a candle, honour the goddess, and say hello to your inner rodent!

You know you want to!!
