After the Eclipse

We are still in the energy field of Monday's spectacular solar eclipse. Can  you still feel it? Did you feel it/see it?  I did (80%) and it was magnificent.  As the Moon began to block the light of the Sun - the air cooled, the light was diffused - and there were magical shadows on the ground - little mini eclipse shadows.

What an intense week!  The larger effect will ripple out for up to two years - but there is apparently a more immediate sphere of influence  - for 9 days before the eclipse - and nine days after- when we can direct the energy with focused intention. Before the eclipse we were in release mode  - and  afterwards - (according to a shaman I listened to on Planet Waves FM) we bring in new energy as we set our intentions. Every New Moon represents a reset button - and a Solar eclipse is basically a New Moon on steroids! There are still a couple of days left to focus on what you want to see shift in your life (till Wed Aug 30th).

The Sun - now in Virgo- sign of service and health and paying close attention to details - has joined with  Mercury over the weekend. Have you had the urge to organize and clean? (I have - my fridge is now sparkling clean). Virgo is nothing if not fastidious.  The Sun and Mercury together in Virgo,  call us to really focus in on fine tuning whatever insights or revelations we had over the last week or so. When Mercury is retrograde we turn our thoughts and attention inward - and given the immensity of 'stuff' coming to the surface right now - it a good time to reflect, journal, go for a walk  or sit very very still - to ponder all the feelings and issues that have been stirred up .

Whatever has been 'in your face' this past week or two - is what is ready to be released/transformed - and there is an opportunity for a majour shift in awareness around those issues.   That means the very difficulties you are facing contain many gifts for you - as you let go and allow the transformation to occur -  the pain will become your gain - and you will be the recipient of a new perspective -  or new energy - or new circumstances.

Jupiter says: Ask and you shall receive!

The caveat is: We must let something go...  (there is always a catch lol) to make room for this powerful new energy. So many people have expressed feeling  an increased intensity over these last few weeks, as core issues rose to the surface. Things should start to settle down now (whew) , but  its not finished - its just going underground  to work on a deeper level. Keep working through what is poking at you - if you continue scratch away at it -  you might uncover some rare gold (its called the gold in the shadow) lying beneath the surface.

That shiny person underneath all the muck and dust is You!

Many key world events can be traced back to significant eclipses,  and as I've mentioned before (see last two posts) - this eclipse is very  strongly linked to the chart of the United States  - not only because it is the only country where the eclipse was seen in totality - but also due to it being exactly opposite America's Moon in Aquarius (Revolution, Freedom) as well as exactly on Trump`s  rising  sign. Far reaching changes are no doubt already occurring  that will direct the course of history in new and unfathomable ways.  It might be difficult to zero on a particular event - there are so many to choose from - admidst the ongoing  upheaval and confusion of these crazy times. It is impossible to  say whether things will become better or worse  (in the case of American  politic - could they get any worse?) but something is being amplified and expanded (and possibly ended)  to make way for a quantum shift. It will be interesting to see what occurs over the next few months - there is no doubt something very significant is in process.

Meanwhile - for the rest of us mere mortals - Mercury is now reversing back through the sign of Virgo, and will cross back into Leo in a week or so. Virgo is a meticulous sign that wants us to examine every detail of any plan or communication we are working on or toward. As the trickster planet prepares to turn around on Sept 5th -  it will stop dead in its tracks exactly on the eclipse point.  Besides the usual chaos and confusion that Mercury Retrograde stirs up,  there may be some kind of revelation or hidden information coming to light as Mercury changes direction. That information will likely pertain to decisions or shifts that occurred on or around the eclipse.  That should be interesting! Add to all that Neptune's influence - and it is not an overstatement to say that we must all be very careful about what we say,  what we sign and what we think we hear. Looks like things are about to get interesting.

Watch your dreams - tune into your inner vision. Moments of inspiration and  future possibilities may come in flashes of insight.  Expect the unexpected.

There is a Full Moon the very next day (Sept 6th) which will bring to fruition the energy and intentions of the Solar Eclipse ( a New Moon).  By then we should be getting a glimpse or a sense of what has shifted or is shifting,  and be able to take tentative steps (or even giants leaps) in the new direction.

The influence of Neptune and Chiron - at the Sept 6 Full Moon in Pisces - will offer deep healing  around whatever you had to let go of, and  bring a clearing away of the doubts and confusion. Or - if you have been deluding yourself about something-  or clinging to the past -  prepare to be corrected.

If the eclipse landed on a key planet or area of your chart - and things have gone all pear shaped - know that whatever you're grappling with, whatever issues are on fire right now - shows that you are in the midst of something life changing. The area /issues you are feeling so much pressure about now -  the doubts, the fears - contain the key to your future .
*The following chart shows  the houses so you can see what area the eclipse landed in your chart -  or get a complete detailed reading  to fully understand the implications of this rare and powerful event. (aurumastrology@gmail.com )

So - for example -  if you are an Aries Rising then that Sign is House no 1- then Taurus is no 2 and so on. You can make a chart for free at astro.com) Whatever sign is your rising sign is the first house.  Natal planets in the houses describe how you work with that particular energy, and the current transits (planets in the sly) will activate these areas as they pass over them. So for example - Leo (eclipse) in this chart is the 5th house - and if you have a planet there it willbe super charged - showing some kind of new way energy coming in around your children, your creativity, or your ability to have fun. That could be a new child arriving - a new way of understanding your own childhood, releasing old blockages around being able to have fun, new creative ideas pouring in etc. The whole chart has to be considered - but this gives you a basic  idea of how it works.

If you are feeling a bit of pressure  -  remember this moment is setting the stage for a glorious awakening - (Leo is where we shine) - a chance to  shine our light into the world. And as far as what you've had to let go of  - it was something that needed letting go of. You cannot lose what is truly  yours.
So - to conclude this very long post  -  if  you have been on the edge of some kind of change or choice or shift in direction - go with it - trust it. Use the next few days to get clear about what you want - and how you want to get it, and begin to take a few bold steps into new territory.

Leo is about the heart - and about courage - yet it will also take surrender and trust to enter this new phase.  We may feel like we are being asked to leap into the unknown without fully (or even partly)  knowing where we are going, and once we do - there will be no turning back.

There's never been a better time to take that leap -  and chances are excellent  that you will end up exactly where you need to be. It is time to accept your divine and glorious destiny.

You know you want to!

Solar Eclipse in Leo: Light and Shadows

Are you ready for the Great American Eclipse? Is this the event that will make America great again?

I know – so much hype gets wearisome. But the fact that this is the first Solar eclipse to be seen in full totality across America since the country's inception in 1776, and the USA is the only country the full eclipse can be seen in, plus the fact that it is exactly on the Rising sign of the current POTUS - adds to the significance of this eclipse for Americans in particular.

As many around the world watch the spectacle of current American politics with a mix of fascination and horror – it seems every day brings another shock another tweet another conspiracy theory - we may wonder how/where it will all end. Could this eclipse mark a turning point for that country or for their infamous leader (!)? We shall have to wait and see. Changes that begin now will continue for up to two years, though we can mark this as the spot something began to change.

The message for all of us :  ‘Shift or get off the pot!’

Mars' closeness to the eclipse means sparks are already flying. Mars is planet of action and aggression and in Leo is full of vim and vigour and a good deal of pride and posturing. We are currently  seeing increased volatility in global  events.  Let's all hold a space for peaceful solutions.

Eclipses mark major turning points – the Universe telling us its time to move forward. With all eclipses, something ends and something else begins. There will be a change, subtle or obvious, that indicates we can never go back to the ‘good old days’ - the only way to go now is fast forward.  Have you noticed how time seems to be speeding up?

As we moved through the eclipse corridor  (between two eclipses)  time seems to warp and accelerate.  A lot of people I've spoken to this week have been feeling rather testy. There has also been an opposition between Venus (love) and Pluto (power/control/crisis) combining with both Jupiter and Uranus - amping up feelings of emotional insecurity, and obsession. Mars adds volatility and aggression to the mix, leaving some of us  feeling like we’ve been punched in the stomach – holding our breath - waiting to exhale. Global events are part of it, yet its bigger than that.  This is a deep reckoning and shift within ourselves that opens the door to a brighter new reality. But first, as the Sun is eclipsed, shadows abound.

Deep emotional issues (Venus/Pluto) around our need for love and security are being brought to the surface and it's not been comfortable. Venus/Pluto reveals an intense, obsessive , addictive  need for love  – for some  it’s been high drama - do or die. Sudden breakups, confrontations or control dramas bring us face to face with our greatest fear – that we are unlovable. Or are we?

Leo begs to differ.

The energy of Leo is magnanimous, joyous, heartfelt, playful – offering an alternative to those old programs.  Time to let go of those sad stories and embrace a new,  more positive version of ourselves. Be the real you! Once the  shadows are faced, the light can begin to shine.

When the Moon comes between the earth and the Sun, our more left brain ego needs will be eclipsed by the more unconscious feeling oriented Moon energies.
“Sabian symbol for the Sun and Moon at 29* Leo is: A Mermaid Emerges From The Ocean Waves Ready For Rebirth In Human Form. Mermaids are magical beings who can navigate the great realm of the Collective Unconscious. Psychologically, they represent a new feeling and energy that arises out of our collective longing for a different life." quote from Mystic Mama

We may go through a period of readjustment as we integrate these new energies. Some  are old patterns that no longer resonate with the new energy field being released – or parts emerging that have been hidden or suppressed for a long long time. What falls away is what is meant to - all of this emotional cleansing is  so we can move forward with greater joy and freedom (Jupiter/Uranus). What remains will be our more authentic self.

Pluto's presence right now feels heavy and uncomfortable.  I sat today working through some of my own  ‘stuff’’’ and I noticed the more I resisted, the worse it felt. The more I just leaned into it – felt into the 'uncomfortableness' - asked it what it was trying to tell me - I got in touch with core issues. The more I felt into it - the more centred I became. Conscious breathing helped to stay still in the midst of some pretty squirmy energy.   The instinct with Pluto is to run as fast as you can in the other direction - yet instead – if you can bear with it – and breath through it  - those big old (internal) meanies can be vanquished once and for all.

The Sun right now is illuminating our ‘cosmic destiny’ and elevating our future potential.  As it crosses the North Lunar Node in Leo (Collective Destiny Point), we take another step toward claiming our personal 'truth', and uncover what  gives our life meaning (North Node).

Many of the emotional factors we are releasing now are rooted in our  childhood (Venus Cancer)- and are about the abuse of power (Pluto). The fears and resentments that have been  holding us back can shift when we learn to stand up for ourselves. That is how we begin to usher in the next phase of our awakening (for awaken we must). It  is important now  to claim our right to be here- our right to shine in this world.

Leo is about being the best we can be. It represents our personal sovereignty,  our empowerment, as well as our most playful, heartfelt self.
This eclipse occurs on one of the four ancient ‘royal’ stars – Regulus, the King. It is the star at the heart of the constellation of Leo.
Leo is the 'good king' or the 'good queen' in all of us.  A Solar Eclipse is also a New Moon -  the merger of masculine and feminine energies - known as the 'conjunctio' or sacred marriage. This highly creative merger can give birth to countless ideas and visions and possibilities. Two plus two doesn't equal four - it equals twenty two!!

Leo brings out our personal best. Now is the time to stand up for yourself in some way, perhaps by claiming a spot onstage instead of always giving others the limelight. Or it might mean asking for what you deserve, or claiming your talents, or creating that masterpiece you've been dreaming about. Aquarius opposite reminds us that we can shine our light  without needing to push others off stage. There's room for us all t o shine - and the world certainly needs our light.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Marianne Williamson

The shadow side of Leo is arrogant, full of pride and the need to dominate others. It is a megalomaniac that wants constant attention and admiration and resents when others try to share the limelight (hmmm).

This event can bring out the best or the worst in a person; set your intention now that this eclipse will open the door to a bigger, better you.

Intentions are very powerful now. You get to choose who you want to be when you grow up!! As we  take responsibility for what we are creating in our life (Saturn), things really start to happen. If we don't - some of us might encounter a shock or sudden event that throws us back on ourself. If that happens, it will be for your greater good in the long run.  We need to be  operating from our own higher selfto truly claim this moment.

Don't worry - it's not all so  serious. This is a time to celebrate who we are. Leo is playful and full of fun – even a bit of a party animal. Generous to a fault, Leo brings out the best in everyone. So let your light shine. Claim your magnificence. Lets make this world a better place.

You know you want to.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Mercury retrograde is already in full force. Formatting issues continue!!
Mind the gap...

The big event of August is the Solar Eclipse in Leo on August 21st. This total eclipse crosses over the middle of America and just happens to be exactly on Donald Trumps Rising sign of Leo (dramatic, arrogant, magnanimous, self centered) -  as well as the fixed star 'Regular' that marks his chart. I mostly avoid politics in this blog - if you want excellent political astrology go to Planet Waves with Eric Francis.   That said, this is too interesting not to mention. Regulus is the mark of a 'powerful leader and also of a precipitous fall.'

"One of the strange things about the fixed stars is that the forecast, although promising great success, is that success will be taken away or that you will be disgraced somehow. It seems the more the star contributed the more is taken away, or the more dishonest the person."

I'll let you make of that what you will. More on the leo Solar Eclipse next week.

Today's news is  that Mercury - planet of communication and thinking processes - is now in retrograde motion - moving from the sign of Virgo (which it rules) back into the sign of Leo. Interestingly, it will turn around to go direct (Sept 5th)  on the exact degree of the eclipse (and Regulus).

I have some thoughts on what that means, and the implications of the coming eclipse - especially for those of us with Pluto in late Leo - the 50's (the Me generation). Looks like big lessons on personal power and our relationship to both groups we interact with (Aquarius) as well as authority. The last two posts are about both Leo and Aquarius - more to come.

As far as Mercury retrograde: besides the usual crazy mix-ups and communication mayhem - Mercury retrogrades  turn our thought inward and ask us to reflect on what is going on in the house in which is passes through in our chart. (as always- see houses in tab above for descriptions of meanings of each house). Because Mercury is currently opposite Neptune, planet of drams and illusions - there is an even greater chance over the next three weeks for strange miscommunications, lost info and/or the passing of dubious information (more fake news!!)

Be extra careful re signing documents or making long term commitments at this time. Virgo is a sign of detail and discernment- use it well.  As Mercury reenters Leo at the end of August, we will be reflecting on the issues re Leo and Aquarius, as well as whatever fallout may be occurring from the eclipse.

Interestingly, someone I am very close to was considering a new job early in 2017 when a similar  Mercury/Neptune retrograde was going on. Although he is somewhat interested in Astrology, I would never dream of saying anything, but I was worried of some kind of dishonesty or misinformation screwing up his prospects. Several factors that occurred totally fit the profile - such as his having to keep the new job secret (from his current job because it was not for sure and he didn't want to make any announcements prematurely) . Although not entirely dishonest (Mercury Neptune can represent dishonesty) , it did involve an element of secrecy.  And after 7-8 months of hedging and back and forthing - nothing concrete has manifested (another Neptune trait) . Neptune dissolves and obfuscates and even more so when it is in Pisces as it is now. A good example of what can happen under these energies.

So do pay attention and don't let the current fiery and impatient energies of Mars/Sun/Leo push you to make decisions you would be best to delay-  or at least examine in great detail.

Mars is also moving toward a tense angle with Saturn, which also directs us toward greater caution in our actions and our day to day affairs. Frustration is a common side effect of Mars Saturn. Patience required.

Today -fiery Moon in Aries plus Mars (aggression/action) with Sun (vitality/ego) in Leo (pride/drama) may  be stirring up interpersonal strife.

  Use the LEAP technique:
Listen - (nonjudgementally. Including nonverbal cues.)
Empathize
Agree (agree - with what is valid, ie their feelings about the subject)
Partner - "what can/should we do?"
Don't panic, just talk it out.

If that doesn't work - Retreat. Walk away. Let it go.

You know you want to...

Full Moon Eclipse in Aquarius - We're All in this Together

-->
I found a way to reformat the last post- so here it is again in readable format.

-->
Today's Full Moon and 'partial' eclipse is in the sign of Aquarius. Because we are now entering the Age of Aquarius, eclipses in this sign are especially important and tell us something about what we need to do to be in sinc with the new energies coming in.

Eclipse's- similar to New Moons - bring in new energy - and  set in motion something that will manifest over many months. Don't expect a sudden change, but watch what happens over the rest of the year.

This lunar eclipse in Aquarius is also the next step leading us to the coming powerful total Solar Eclipse  in Leo on August 21. It’s all very exciting.  I will write more about the Solar Eclipse next week, but in the meantime, there are some interesting aspects occurring now that link the two eclipses and point to this being a very significant time.

We have been under the influence of a Grand Trine in fire signs for a while now, which will be directly aspected by the August 21st eclipse.  A Grand Trine is a fluid movement of energy between three equidistant planets - which in fire signs creates a very dynamic energy signature. Links between Saturn (structure), Uranus (innovation) and the North Node of Moon in Leo are awakening us to our Collective Destiny (North Node).

The Fire Trine represents  Heart energy. This is a powerful call to open your heart – and to know who you  are and why you are here. Leo, ruled by the Sun, is asking us all to ‘Shine our light out into the world'. Leo also gives us the courage  to make the changes needed to shift to a new level. (Leo rules the heart - Cour  = heart)

-->
To do that, we must first seek, and find  - our own inner light.  That was the message of the New Moon in Leo (first of Two in August).  Now, the Aquarius Full Moon on Monday asks us to share that light and direct our passion (Mars) toward making this world a better place (Aquarius).

Saturn in trine to the Collective Destiny Point (North Node) is pushing us to align with our TRUE PURPOSE.  I know I probably sound like a broken record, but this has been a key theme for some time now, as various planetary elements try to get us to wake the f*%# up!  As Saturn  zig-zags over the Galactic Core in Sagittarius (centre of our galaxy) it calls to us again and again to step-up to the plate,  live our truth and be who we are meant to be.

“Our inner Saturn gives us the power to take command of our lives and destiny. Saturn shows us those things we must master to become spiritual adults and fulfill our purpose for being alive on Earth. By knowing our Saturnian strengths, we can overcome fear and any sense of victimization or powerlessness.”  Robert Wilkenson, Aquarius Papers

The Full Moon in Aquarius asks us to hold a vision that is radically different from what has gone before. To do this we need to step outside the box and tap into our deepest hopes and ideals, then work with each other to correct what is out of balance. The Aquarian Age  is not about division and difference, it is about the brotherhood and sisterhood of all humankind.  It's not just about you and me -  it's about 'us' .

This Full Moon  can help us get in touch with a collective vision that serves all of humanity (Aquarius), as well as help us find our own personal expression (Leo). This is playful stuff - through which we can access our  creativity,  and our own  uniqueness and personal freedom, while also  committing to serve the greater good. Aquarius - an air sign - also helps us detach from emotional drama.

As we enter a process of elimination - associated with eclipses  – some aspect of our life may  shut down for a while, or leave altogether. We go through this each year, as part of the cyclical growth and pruning nature requires, with the emphasis  on the sign (and house if you know it) that the eclipse falls in.  If you look to see where 15 degrees Aquarius is on your chart, you will see what you might need to let go of, and where new energies are flooding in. (see tab at top of web-page for house info).

Perhaps the time has come to  time to stop compromising your individuality (Leo) in your need to fit into the group (Aquarius) Or, conversely, maybe your need for attention, and to be special (Leo), is getting in the way of listening to, and seeing, the value of those around you.  Finding a balance between our need to shine and our need to work with others is a key aspect of this eclipse.

-->

Mars (action, aggression),  still travelling close to the Sun, is amping up the ego side of things. Mars in Leo can be high drama - demanding attention - and getting it. This can make us arrogant and argumentative as we seeks to get our own way (stomps feet). Mars in Leo  can also be very generous  -  deeply/passionately committed to a goal. Remember, without compromising yourself, a little humility goes a long way to getting along with others. Patience required.

As we enter this particular corridor of change there is a powerful sense of possibility. We may have to let go of  parts of our past to create space for the future - you know how it goes  - one door closes -  another one opens.  Now is the time to hold a vision of what you want to see and be in the world.

You know you want to!

Full Moon 15-16 degrees Aquarius Monday, Aug. 7, at 2:10 pm EDT
Partial eclipse peaks ten minutes after
