New Moon in Aquarius: New Moment New Choice

Image
A New Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon are in the exact same degree. We won’t actually see the moon as it sits behind the sun; a small sliver will appear in a day or two. This joining of ‘brother sun’ and ‘sister moon’ is a seed time… the conjunction or ‘conjunctio’   (‘sacred union’) unites the conscious self (Sun) with the unconscious self (Moon), the masculine with the feminine.    As the alchemy of the New moon ripples out into the following month (or months depending on its impact) we can align our thoughts and intentions with this energy and grab a ride on its forward moving energy. Aquarius is an air sign and deals with authenticity, eccentricity and forward thinking. This brings out the maverick in us, the rogue trader, the entrepreneurial spirit. It is also called the water bearer...  and connects us to our innate humanity.  This Aquarius New Moon brings  detachment, clarity and liberation; a  chance to act and think (and feel) differently.  New ideas and vision

Rethinking the past so we can be be more in the Present

If you "like'  the Aurum Astrology's page on Facebook (see side link) you get to see short daily posts ... such as this one ... or... you can continue to visit  here on weekends for  something a bit more 'meaty'.   Here is today's sample from Facebook: "The Moon and Mercury in Aquarius are now in exact square with Saturn in Scorpio...(square = tension)  combining with Venus (love, relationship, money)  going backward in Capricorn (authority, success or failure, getting serious).  These combin ed energies bring us deep inside our lives and loves ... to ponder and reflect on the emotional patterns from the past that we are still repeating in the present. Some have been inherited through many generations.   Aquarius brings us the detachment to step back and see clearly. Jupiter in Cancer helps us celebrate, nurture and set free our inner child. Neptune and Chiron in Pisces bring us profound healing.  It's all good! " &quo

Howling at the (Full) Moon

Jan. 15, 11:52 p.m. EST: Full Moon in Cancer   - “Amid the zero cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Native villages... Hence the native name ‘ Full Wolf Moon’ . Since the moon arrives at its farthest point from Earth,   less than three hours earlier, this will also be the smallest full moon of 2014 . It will appear 12.2-percent smaller than the full moon of Aug.10, the biggest full moon of the year."         (xnews.com/science/2014/01/14/weird-full-moon-names-2014-explained) Cancer is the sign of the mother, and represents our need to nurture and be nurtured. Right now both Jupiter and a point called ‘Black Moon Lilith’ are already occupying this watery sign. Lilith was the first biblical woman, created as original mate to Adam. When she refused to lie under him, she was exiled and made into a demon.  Eve was  a more suitable, passive model of womanhood, made from Adams rib, and  the ensuing story of the apple and the

Peace and Prosperity! Venus Retrograde in Capricron.

Warning: This is a bit long but covers a lot that is going on right now. I just watched a tourism video set in the 1920s.  It was a time fairly soon after the industrial revolution (1880's) meant  inventions and machines were developing fast and furious; everything was accelerating and changing the landscape in irreversible ways.  Right now,  Venus (love, relationships, money, values) is going backward in Capricorn, sign of  material progress, and we may all find ourselves reflecting on our values and our relationship to money and success, or going back over past loves and personal relationships. The video got me thinking about the incredible acceleration and  the pursuit of material goods (Capricorn) ... in the form of money and things and gadgets etc (at least in in western culture), which is now spreading to the rest of the world. Before the industrial revolution, things stayed relatively the same for hundreds and hundreds of years. People farmed a

2014 is Here!!

2014 kicked off with a powerful New Moon in Capricorn. This is most auspicious, as a New Moon marks new beginnings, and in Capricorn, brings the power of manifestation and discipline to whatever projects we are starting the year with. A link to the grand cross formation makes it even more impressive, as that dynamic energy puts us all into fast forward motion. Capricorn is about ambition, mastery and manifestation. Its ruler is Saturn, the lord of time and karma, and of the material world. The karmic goal of Capricorn is to direct oneself with maturity and wisdom, and to structure oneself within society.   We gain mastery by taking responsibility in our lives and focusing our energies toward concrete goals. As spiritual beings having a physical experience, it is through Capricorn that we assume full responsibility for what we create in the outer world. A New Moon here will help us focus our intentions and zoom in on what we want to bring forward into 2014. T
