Light Trumps Darkness: Solar Eclipse in Scorpio

Today, Friday Nov 1st, Uranus is in exact square to Pluto for the fourth time…  in Capricorn at 9 degrees.
Then in two days we have a New Moon eclipse in Scorpio.

When push comes to shove somethings gotta give!!

Uranus = sudden change, rebellion, new vision
in Aries: initiative, warrior energy, leadership

Pluto = death, power, transformation
in Capricorn = authority, systems, material world, patriarchy

We have been going through a lot of upheaval in the past few years as this aspect sets off powerful changes in our lives. Events triggered by outer planets arrive as if fated, and when they hit our personal charts we  best be prepared for disruption!

If not being affected directly, we can witness their effect in the outer world. Notice some pretty mad events lately?Yup, that would be Uranus Pluto!! The last time they were bumping up against each other was  in the sixtes, and we all know how much changed as a result of that era. Now they are at it again, and there is no stopping the archetypal energies when they get going.

This current square aspect has reached the midpoint of its series, with three more to come in the next two years.

Today, most unusually,  5 other planets were also at that same degree … setting off a  wave of powerful reverberations into the whole sky… like an echo in a huge canyon. What effects this has is anyone's guess. It may be weeks or months (or years) before we can look back and see this as a turning point in the evolution of human beings. That said, I think a lot of us are feeing it pretty strongly already!! There is not much that is not being changed or challenged in some way right now as time itself seem to be accelerating daily!

Then we have a New Moon Eclipse on Sunday, at 11 degrees Scorpio, is conjunct the Destiny Point (Moon’s north node), and joined there by both Mercury and Saturn.

Mercury = communication, thought processes, interconnectedness,
Saturn = karma (we reap what we sow), life lessons, mastery.

That is a lot of energy focused on our collective destiny.  It is time to

“Stand up! Speak up! Speak out!”

A New Moon (joining of Sun and Moon in Sky) is seed energy, and it is said that whatever we focus on with intention will manifest in the weeks to come. An eclipse signifies a break with the past, opening a door for something new to enter.  This one is particularly significant because it is sitting on the destiny point.

The times they are a changing.

Opposite is the Moon’s south node in Taurus, representing past patterns of survival, greed; an excess focus on creature comforts coming from a fear of lack.

The eclipse on the North Node in Scorpio is about letting go of the past, diving deep into personal (and societal) transformation. In Scorpio it also signifies sexual liberation. Oh boy, what fun we are gonna be having!

Time to step into something completely different.

Pluto in Capricorn represents the death of the old model as it breaks down systems and challenges authority.

Uranus squared this in Aries is triggering visionary, revolutionary forces that are driven to challenge the status quo.(think Occupy Movement, Arab Spring etc)

These aspects signify the death of patriarchy (power over)  which is based on survival, dominance, and predatory practices. This means we can no longer continue behaving in the same old ways.

The message today is:
Claim your power. Let go of fear. Let go of stuff (that stands in for security) True security is felt within.

Jupiter and Lilith in Cancer  represent  our emotional truth! Jupiter here says embrace your truth. Know your truth, and in the sign of the mother calls on our inner golden child, our essence, our true radiant self,

Lilith here is also highly significant. Lilith was the first woman created (in the bible) who refused to lay under Adam. Her demand for equality got her rejected of Eden.  Lilith was then replaced by Eve and made into a demon.

In her true form, she represents the archetypal feminine power that has long been repressed and denied by patriarchy. As she rises now with Jupiter (expansion) in the sign of the mother (Cancer) she brings emotional healing and retribution to the long suffering feminine. It is time!

Remember, this feminine is in both male and female. It is an ancient archetypal power, the moon ruled inner voice that calls us to listen with subtler ears. She calls on us to learn to embrace out emotions and our need for nurturing, as well as to recognize that same need in others. Compassion and caring become so important in a world gone mad.

This New Moon eclipse thus holds the potential for total rebirth of Self, activating another removal, another layer of cleansing of all that has held us down.  It calls us to allow the rising heart energy to fill up that empty void inside.

Saturn in Scorpio has been getting us to face our fears and move out of survival mode. We must stop playing victim and claim authority over our own life. As we face the old shadows and see them for what they are… just shadows,  we discover they are not solid, not real (those negative voices that hold us back and keep us small).

It’s a challenging process to shine the light in those dark corners. ‘The brighter the light, darker the shadow.’

In a talk I heard last weekend, the speaker said something so simple, yet for me… so very profound.

He said, simply,

“Darkness yields to light.”

You cannot scoop out the darkness, but you can bring in light,  and the darkness will automatically go away.
I know that seems like nothing, but at that moment I really needed to hear it, and I felt a huge weight lift of me.

The message is:

Even in our greatest darkness, there is still a light shining.

For a short while during the eclipse, the Sun will be covered by the shadow of the Moon. Yet we will still see its outline and we will still know it is there. And when it re emerges, it will seem even brighter than before!

So this Sunday (and everyday really):

Let go of fear.  Open the door! Let your inner light shine!
Then: Focus on what you truly want to manifest in your life ...  and let it be so!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
