Full Moon in Leo Part 2

A  Leo Full Moon  is about letting your light shine. Know your worth! Self empowerment rules the day!

This Full Moon opposes Sun Mercury and later, Mars in Aquarius. This will bring out the quirky freedom loving, rebellious side of us all. It also means a bit of potential tension in the air.

Leo can be a bit   ‘me, me, me’  whereas all those planets in Aquarius want everyone to get in the picture!! Haha!  Means there’s going to be a bit of push- pull between self and other… nothing too heavy… we  just have to be aware of the other people in the room. It's all about reciprocity!

It’s not all about you.

Well maybe just a little ; }

Leo is about self; Aquarius is about the collective. Full Moons can polarize issues, both internal and external, which can all show up as tension between you and others. The  energy tends to build gradually, then release as reaches its peak (which is Saturday for some(UK) and Sunday for others... (this will carry over both days either way).

Leo is drama queen/firey/self- centered, proud and generous to a fault (they are the royalty of the zodiac!!)

Aquarius is all rational/air/intellect/detachment/ideas as I said in my last post. Both are fixed (read stubborn) signs, so this can indicate a stand off between one person feeling passionate about something and another’s having less emotional involvement and being a bit aloof.

Saturn as co ruler of Aquarius is influencing things from its spot in Scorpio, where it is still just beginning the job of making us face those uncomfortable truths we like to avoid... like sex, shared money, death (yeah, that stuff)

The tension of the square  to Saturn from both the Sun and Mercury will mean that things we need to talk about but haven't yet might become bothersome/irritating/irksome.

Saturn tends to cause both parties to feel stymied, blocked, sometimes reprimanded. Its purpose is to make us grow up and take responsibility for ourselves. Squared angles mean theres a bit of resistance to dealing with any of it.  Scorpio can be jealous, intense, controlling. Temper tantrums may ensue!!

Though I do believe we do always have a choice,  in my personal experience, knowing what’s coming up wont necessarily change a thing. Most of us just aren’t that conscious yet. Still, it is  helpful in hindsight to see what the hell happened. And you never know, a word of caution here could possible temper any rash behaviour or random lunacy.

Let me know how that works for you!!

(And of course these things have more impact on those with personal planets in the degrees of influence, in this case early part of these signs... so birthdays from 22nd to 31st of month)

It's clear the weekend could contain some high drama; it certainly wont be boring! Good time to go to the theater or a movie. Let the actors do the drama instead of you!

Unexpected influence comes from  Uranus, the other ruler of Aquarius,  sitting in the impatient, go-getter sign of Aries. Its influence here urges us to start something fresh and come up with a new vision for our self and our world. Expect the unexpected.

Despite the dramatic tension in the air, there is a lovely flow between Jupiter, Uranus,  Moon, and  Sun which brings in a  quite positive and lovely, quite joyful, very social energy that can  take us out of our full moon madness.

You could call this a moment of ease and grace in the midst of a bit of bother! Prepare to be pleasantly surprised.

The Moon shining full in Leo says: Be the Best you can be, shine your light brightly, walk proud.

“If your light is on a hill, its kind of hard to hide it well.
You’ve got to be bright to be the light of the world”

Sun in Aquarius/ Approaching Full Moon (prt 1)

The trouble with missing a blog post  (so much for New Year’s resolutions!!) is that I then feel I have to make up for it with an extra long one.  I have therefore divided this into two sections; part 2 will be published  Friday or Saturday.

I have been reading Robert Wilkinson’s Aquarian Papers  (side bar) where  he talks about our times in terms of what he calls the  ‘Grand Irrationality’ .

“All around the world, things have destabilized in unimaginable ways, and new developments are happening so quickly that it’s almost impossible to reason out why this is happening the way it is happening. From genocides to electromagnetic breakthroughs, (to financial meltdowns) … we’re seeing a lot come down in this 25 year period of “The Grand Irrationality.”

Neptune and Pluto, the outermost invisible "spiritual" planets, have been and will be in the irrational, compulsive, "fork in the road" septile aspect for quite a few years. This energy began to creep into play between 1992-1994, and will begin to wane in the Springs and Summers of 2015-2020 .

He says that all aspects in a septile  (a circle divided by seven) produce irrational points in our evolution,  and due to Saturn's association with the number 7,  these septile aspects create a  "destiny producing" influence, and as such are associated with "forks in the road," where we make choices that throw our "destiny" onto its path for some time to come.

Wilkinson says some seem to be handling the ensuing chaos  okay, and are “able to function with apparent ease despite the hard edged irrational behaviors so prevalent in our world (think wacky right wing politics). Others are having a harder time with the generic weirdness.”

If you find things in your life a bit topsy turvy, and if your plans are going awry ... know that it may be part of some great higher purpose to shake you out of your complacency. And if you are an Aquarius, and you come to that fork in the road, I know you will take the road less travelled (see bottom of page)

The Sun  now in Aquarius is in a sign that says irrational and rational simultaneously. Ruled by both Saturn (old) and Uranus (new), Aquarians can be  fixed and stubborn as well as quirky and unusual.  They are proud of their individuality and are certainly unique, while also representing the best of community spirit and group dynamics.

Aquarians often deal with cutting edge scenarios in computers, science, communications  etc, and are known for being calm, cool, and collected. Not the most romantic types, Aquarians can be appreciated for their objectivity and rationality. They also can be seen dabbling in esoteric sciences and New Age ideas. Whatever they do, there is bound to be something unusual or unique about it.

Oh, and Aquarians don't like being told what to do.

Key words for Aquarius:

Independence
Equality
Freedom
Rebellion
Thinking outside the box
Unusual, Eccentricity
Inventiveness
Objectivity/Detachment

Mars  (warrior, masculine, desire, anger, impatience, feistiness) in Aquarius now, can have a bit of a chip on its shoulder i.e be a bit defensive, bit rebellious, and rather touchy around authority. This Mars is a maverick, a very independent spirit, who chafes at being held back for any reason.

The recent square of Mars to Saturn (restriction, authority... all the things Mars in Aquarius doesn't like) is now waning, yet some of the frustration and tension lingers on, and  it may sometimes feel like you are still driving with the brakes on.

For all of you with personal planets in early Aquarius:
 This too shall pass.

Neptune in Pisces highlights the irrational, the dodgy and the dishonest. Its job is dissolving our sense of reality, by obfuscating everything with veils of fantasy and illusion. Its higher purpose is to pull us into a deeper egoless realm by awakening our intrinsic longing to connect with the ineffable. Some try to get there with drugs or alcohol, others use meditation to reach those depths.

Meanwhile, on the earth plane, Pluto in Capricorn is breaking down systems and challenging old outworn power structures, while bringing up deep survival fears around our material wealth (or lack there of).

The good news is that creativity thrives in chaos. Out of breakdown and instability can come new and better ways of doing, experiencing, being.

Wilkinson says we are "birthing a new way of living our global reality and new ways of relating to all that is.”

(to be continued...)

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

New Moon in Capricorn

                             Happy New Year everybody!

Today is the first New Moon of 2013.   The flu has knocked me down a bit this week, so in the spirit of today’s New Moon, I will cut to the chase!

We start a new emotional cycle in the sign of stoic, hard working Capricorn.

This earthy energy is very focused on practicalities. It organized, serious, and structured, with a strong drive to succeed on the material plane. Capricorn is a doer in the most literal sense.

This New Moon therefore, speaks of hard work and focus on the job at hand. Sun, Mercury, Moon, Venus and Pluto all together in this sign of the Goat amplify the message.

If you didn’t make any New Year's resolutions, you haven’t missed out. This is the perfect time to set your intentions for the coming month as well as for the whole year.  This is an excellent moment to start new projects or complete what needs completing so you can start to feel you are making progress.  Capricorns don’t sit around. Forward movement will be easier right now, even if it hasn’t been lately.

Capricorn’s ruler, Saturn, is in Scorpio, and my last few posts have mentioned how this energy forces us to face things we have been avoiding and deal with those hidden issues no one likes to face. Things may come up in this regard right now as the New Moon is new in a Saturn ruled sign, but don't expect it all to be cleared away all at once.  That process is going to continue for a couple of years as Saturn moves through Scorpio. Still, with so much forward motion right now in Capricorn, some of that which we need to deal with will be really in our face.

If you haven’t done so already at the Solstice or at New Years, you can still make a ritual out of writing down everything you want to release, as well as the goals you want to set to carry you into 2013. I am planning to do this tomorrow night and burn them in a bonfire outside. A fireplace will do of course, or any similar method you decide upon.  The point is to release the past and start the new cycle with clear intentions.

Part of the dynamic we are dealing with is about empowerment. Pluto in Capricorn in square with Uranus (the Rebel) has been confronting our ideas of authority and power. Rather than spend too much time complaining about how others misuse or abuse their power, its time to step up to the plate and claim authority over our own lives. That’s essentially what Capricorn is about.

All in all it’s a rather serious and focused start to the year as this grounded, cardinal sign give us the impetus and the strength to deal with the tasks at hand.

Its time to walk your talk!!

And for those of you who are feeling a little overwhelmed by this energy, there’s a little bit of escapism present   between Jupiter and Neptune. This can bring us into conflict with our need to move forward, though it can also allow for some of us to stop the merry go round for a moment. The choice is ours of course.  Perhaps this idealistic and dreamy energy can be channeled into our inner quest, while we remain focused on the outer realities.

Look to see where the New Moon is in your chart to see where you can make a new beginning, or where you will feel a bit of Saturnian pressure.  Mine is in my third house of communication. I am going to try to be more consistent with this blog post. Due to some health issues,  I have been a bit erratic lately, but hope to get back into a regular weekend posting. My original intention was to post the New and Full moons, which I have basicaly been doing...  so I am allowing myself this back door if my energy doesn't improve immediately. Either way, I hope to be more consistent if I can.

Whatever your vision is, now is a good time to move forward with it.

Onward and upward!!!

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”
